THE FOSC KICK-OFF PICNIC
 
This even has been put on hold for the 2009 season until a committee can be formed

 

The 3rd  Annual Fair Oaks Soccer Club Kick-Off Picnic takes place on Saturday, Sept 12th, at Phoenix Park, at the soccer fields by the snack bar and restroom building.  Festivities begin at 3pm and end at 7pm  It’s all made possible by the generous assistance of parent volunteers.

  • There will be a variety of inflatable bouncers - bounce houses, bounce slides, bounce obstacle courses, etc.   The bouncers will be age appropriate, and set up in specific areas by age group.  Each child will have a wrist band that is appropriate to their age group, and the wrist band will gain them unlimited use of the bouncers for their age group.  The bouncers will be up and open from 3pm to 7pm, as long as there are enough parent volunteers to monitor them.  There are 3 monitors required for every two bouncers, scheduled for specific times.  If there are not sufficient parent volunteer bouncer monitors, some of the bouncers may need to be shut down until sufficient parent volunteers arrive.

  • To add to the festive atmosphere, each team is asked to display their banner throughout the event, along the fence.  Setup and removal of the team banner is the responsibility of the team parent or the coach designee.

  • There will be a Team Banner Contest in which "homemade" banners will be judged for creativity, originality, illustration of the team name, and use of FOSC Club Colors (gold and black).  The judges will be members of other soccer clubs in the area to ensure impartiality. 
    • 1st prize is a Laser  Tag & Pizza Party for the entire team at SunSplash.
    • 2nd place is an ice cream party for the entire team at Leatherby's.  
    • 3rd place is a roller skating party for the entire team at Sunrise Rollerland.

There will be an exhibition soccer game between the coaches and the U16Boys.    

  • The BBQ is your choice of a hamburger, hot dog or vegie burger.  Chips and beverage are also included with your meal.

  • The $5.00 ticket includes all of the above.   There will be a snack bar available with chips and beverages at a nominal charge.
  • Each team is to send a minimum of four (4) parent volunteers who have indicated on the Volunteer Sign-Up form, which job and shift they prefer.
  • All tickets are sold in advance.  The last day to purchase the advance tickets is Monday, September 7th, 2008.

We hope that all of our players and their families will attend this fun event.  Last year there were over 900 people in attendance, and everyone we heard from wanted to do it again.
