The Memphis Traveler's won their 2nd World Series Title of the 2005 season going undefeated in the Grand Slam World Series held in Panama City, FL. The Travelers went south to play teams they haven't seen before. The Traveler's finished the tournament undefeated while scoring 80 runs and only allowing 6. MEMPHIS TRAVELERS WIN N.A.B.F. WORLD SERIES
The Memphis Travelers went to Southaven, MS and came home World Series Champions, leaving no doubt with all who saw this team play that they are one of the dominating teams in the nation. Twelve young men set their goal back in November to win a world series in 2005 and this group would not be denied. The Travelers went 3-1 in pool play but took their game to another level in the elimination round. First up was the always tough Germantown Giants. The Travelers won 12-7 in a gritty come back. Next up came the Jackson Coyotes and the Travelers once again prevailed 8-3. In the semi-finals the Travelers faced a familar foe in the Birmingham Bruisers. The Travelers never let the Bruisers get on track and won 12-0. The championship game set up a rematch with the Maryland Cyclones who had beaten the Travelers 6-5 in extra innings in pool play. But today would be different with as the Travelers never trailed and defeated the Cyclones 8-3. I'm so proud to be part of this fine team and so proud of all these players and their drive and desire to achieve such a lofty goal.
