Message from our Team Parent Coordinator

“Why Should You Become A Team Parent”

My philosophy is "It Takes Teamwork To Make The Dreamwork” and if your childs Dream is to play Sports then you should become a Team Parent and help out with the Teamwork. Team Parents is a pivotal part of every team. They are the coach's assistant, cheerleader and traffic director all in one. These are things you will already be doing if your child is on the team, so take it one more step and help the entire team operate more smoothly!

Every coach needs help arranging snacks and water for games, making calls when rain or snow makes practice impractical, when games are rescheduled or field locations have changed and keeping an energetic team in line on the sidelines. You will be dealing with many different types of personalities. Be patient and open-minded. Most parents are very appreciative that you stepped up into this role and will behave accordingly.

Remember, as the Team Parent, you are the team's biggest cheerleader. Your positive attitude will help to set the tone of the season. You're making a difference for a whole team - a team that includes your child. It's a great way to make your child's team a family experience. If you have what it takes to become a District Heights Team Parent, I would like to hear from you.
