Players must turn 5 on or before April 30, 2024 in order to play in this division.

There are no Skills Assessments for this Division. All registered athletes will be placed on a roster for the season.

The Shetland (T-Ball) Division is generally the first introduction to organized baseball for most players. The primary objective by the end of the season is to ensure that each player has a positive experience with baseball, desires to play again the following year, and has successfully demonstrated the skills listed below.

Playing season begins in June and runs through the end of July with two practices and one game per week. Practices will fall on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. Games will fall on Tuesdays. Schedule is subject to change. ALL GAMES AND PRACTICES IN FAIRBANKS FOR THIS DIVISION.

Game Duration and start times: Games are time limited only (1 hour 20 minutes, with no minimum or maximum inning limitations), starting promptly at 6:00pm and 7:30pm. The two managers shall be responsible for ending the games on-time.

No Umpires are used in this division, games are called by the coaches.

Players will bat off of a Tee, this is a fundamental skill used to develop a level swing and making contact with the ball, all games will be played using a batting Tee.

Fundamentals taught: Hold a bat correctly, proper batting stance, hit a ball off a Tee routinely, run to first base, know when to advance to second base, stop a rolling grounder, throw a ball 30 feet, catch a soft toss from 10 feet.

Required equipment: Good pair of tennis shoes, baseball glove.

$145 Registration Fee includes: Team baseball hat, team shirt, baseball pants and socks.

Shetland Fields: Noyes Field and Sun Riser Field.
