Driving Directions From Points South
Take I-87 North to I-84 East over the Newburg/Beacon Bridge. Continue on I-84 to exit 13 (Snook Rd, US 9
North), Turn left off the ramp heading North on Route 9. Take Route 9 north, stay to the right as you pass
the Mid-Hudson Bridge. You have two options:
1. take the Main Street exit immediately after the Bridge, left onto main street, pass the Train Station and
take a right onto Water St., continue past the Children’s Museum, Hoffman Street Bridge and the old
abandoned Dutton Lumberyard, go through the main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on
itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of this road. This route brings by
restaurants and stores if you are interested in stopping for food, coffee, a haircut, a paper, etc.
2. or you can take the second exit past the Bridge – Albany Street. This will also be a right hand exit, go
through the flashing red light and take a left onto Hoffman Street where it forms a T, veer to the left and
take a right onto the Hoffman Street Bridge and another right onto Water Street – be cautious on this
bridge, visibility is poor. Take Water Street past the old abandoned Dutton Lumberyard, go through the
main gate and follow the main road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community
Boathouse is at the very end of this road.
TRAILERS: From Route 9 going South or the Mid Hudson Bridge
Just past the Bridge exits there will be a “Rinaldi Blvd.” Exit on the right side (trailers coming off the bridge
exit will need to immediately cross over to the right side of Route 9). At the end of this exit take a right and
then another right onto Rinaldi Ave. Take Rinaldi to the end (Train Station will be at the end). Take a left
onto Main Street and an Immediate right onto Water St., continue past the Children’s Museum, Hoffman
Street Bridge and the old abandoned Dutton Lumberyard, go through the main gate and follow the main
road, which doubles back on itself in a hairpin turn, the HRRA Community Boathouse is at the very end of
this road. CAUTION – turns are tight and street signs are numerous – watch your bows and sterns.

Take I-87 North to exit 17, (NY-300/New York 17K) head thru toll plaza toward I-84. Travel East on I 84 to Exit 10S (NY-32 S/N Robinson Ave/US 9W S) Take exit 10S, toward Route 9W south. Turn right onto Route 9W, immediately move into far left lane and turn left at Plank Road (Sunoco Station at corner). Continue straight through three (3) traffic lights and one (1) stop sign. At second stop sign turn left onto Renwick Street, across train tracks. Make right turn at T-trap and proceed forward 100yds. The boathouse will be on your left.
Monksville Reservoir, Ringwood NJ
Take Route 59 toward Sloatsburg, bear right onto County Rd 72 (Sterling Mine Rd). Follow for 5 miles to Margaret King Ave. (Baseball field on right) Turn Right and follow Margaret King to the end. Turn Right on Greenwood Lake Tpk. Go downhill and turn right onto Beech Rd. Go ½ mile to parking lot on left; Highlands Rowing Center is in back left hand corner. (**there is a port-a-potty but I highly recommend using facilities before arriving at the reservoir)
Caufield Rowing Center at West Point
VERY IMPORTANT - everyone entering West Point must go through a security check. They require IDs for everyone in the car - driver’s license or passport for adults, high school IDs are sufficient for the students.
Take the Palisades Parkway North to the Bear Mountain Circle. Proceed 3/4 of the way around the circle, following signs for West Point and Route 9W North. Stay on Route 9W for approximately 3 miles, then right exit onto Route 218 North toward the Village of Highland Falls. Go straight for 2 miles, through Highland Falls, past the West Point Visitors' Center (on the right) to the Thayer Gate of West Point. After passing through the "Thayer" entrance and checkpoint, you will come to a stop sign. Take a right onto Williams Road. This road leads down towards the Hudson...At the bottom
of the hill, you will take a right across the railroad tracks, then keep left, heading north along the river. This is Ernst Road (but I am not sure if it is marked). The Caufield Rowing Center is on your left - the last building just
before some athletic fields.
Kingston regattas are held adjacent to the Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing, Kingston. Enter NYS Thruway (I-87) and take Exit 19. At traffic circle take the third exit for Route 587 South to the traffic light. Go straight for Route 32/Broadway South (straight). Keep going straight to stay on Broadway. You will enter a residential area and go down a hill. Broadway takes a sharp left turn at a traffic light to go down to the Rondout District. Follow Broadway to the bottom of the hill. Bear left. The museum will be on your right and next to the museum to the right is the staging area.
West Milford, NJ (Pinecliff Lake)
Follow directions to Monksville Reservoir, Ringwood NJ. Take Greenwood Lake Turnpike past Monksville Reservoir and turn left onto Marshall Hill Road and that takes you to Union Valley Road. At the Shoprite you make a right turn and the lake is down on the left. The lake is at 1577 Union Valley Road West Milford, NJ.
