2016 FUTURE STREAKS & LITTLE STREAKS BASKETBALL

Grades 1st – 8th

Try-Outs 02/27/2015
Program Outline
The Future Streaks Travel Basketball program try-outs are February 27th at Warren Hills High School and will begin its season on March 14th for boys and girls grades 4 through 8. Grades 1st – 3rd do not need to tryout, but will need to sign up on February 27th. Future Streaks Basketball is open to all Warren Hills District sending children only and will consist of Skill Development and Competitive Play. This proven "multi-sport friendly" program is modeled after several successful current Warren Hills AAU teams and is a feeder program for Warren Hills Basketball. The coaching staff is comprised of current AAU coaches, High School coaches and volunteers - both parents and high school players. Our coaching staff is also regularly engaged with the Warren Hills High School coaching staff to ensure we are preparing your athlete for the next steps in their development from a "Future" to a "Blue" Streak.
During the spring, practices will be held twice a week. All boys (4th–8th) participating will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays and all girls (4th–8th) will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Warren Hills Regional High School gyms. Practice times will be 7:00 to 9:00 pm for both groups. The 2-hour practice sessions will be broken up into group skill development and then players will break out into their respective teams. Each team will consist of 8 to 10 players and it is possible to have two teams at the same grade level if the numbers of participants and coaches allow it. Teams will be separated per grade and only combined if numbers are low. We encourage all participants to attend each and every practice to ensure the success of both individual and team development. We understand that many children are multi-sport athletes and conflicts will arise. It is important to note that we have contacted many of the neighboring athletic programs and have asked for some scheduling consideration based on our practice schedule in order to maximize participation.

Program Outline Grades 1st – 3rd
This year Future Streaks Travel Basketball program is happy to announce the start of our "Little Streaks" program. Little Streaks Basketball is open to all Warren Hills District sending children only and will emphasize on player development in a fun, but competitive atmosphere. We will use intense and innovative skill development training methods that focus on consistently improving players’ basketball skills as well as their mental performance. Our team consists of volunteer coaches and Warren Hills High School basketball players who bring in strong work ethic and passion for developing young players to their full potential. Practices are twice a week and will run from April 4th until June 24th. Signups are on 02/27/2016 at Warren Hills High School main gym from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. April & May practices will be at Mansfield Elementary School. June practice location to be announced.

Synergy
Another main reason for this program is to build harmony and unity among teammates. Playing together now will develop their synergy on and off the court for years to come. While players may be from different townships within the district, they have an opportunity to develop into one united team. They also have the opportunity to build friendships and bonds that will last a lifetime. They learn to anticipate teammate’s moves and habits creating continuity on the court that we anticipate will transfer into a winning team for years to come. We are building the future of Warren Hills basketball right here!

Skill Development
The goal of this program is to provide your children with the opportunity where they can work on their strengths, as well as their weaknesses, in a well-disciplined and competitive environment. It is extremely important to us that each and every one of the children become a better basketball player after they have gone through our various programs.

Competitive Play
We will be offering various ways in which your athlete can participate in competitive play, tournaments and summer league play. Each team will participate in three other tournaments in locations to be announced

Program Fee
The Future Streaks (4th–8th) program fee is $250.00 which includes two weekly practices (M/W or T/Th) from March 16, 2016 to July 22, 2016 and a minimum of three weekend tournaments. This fee also includes enrollment in the Forks Summer league. Additional cost will include an AAU membership fee of $16.00 and if you do not have a uniform already, the cost is $75.00. No other program can compete with this cost for close to 5 months of training and 20 plus games! The cost may increase slightly based on expenses. Little Streaks price to be determined.

Try-Outs
Every player is required to try-out for the program. It is unfortunate that some children may not be selected for the program, but it may be necessary. Much of this will rely on the number of participants and the number of coaches. If the numbers of coaches and players allows, rather than cut players, we will form "Development Teams" which will compete in extra tournaments rather than the Forks Summer League to allow these Developmental teams to play at the level of skill they possess rather than their age level.
