Who Are the Scorekeepers?
Carson City Little League Scorekeepers are all volunteer parents who dedicate their time and efforts to keeping track of team statistics for their Little League team. Each team needs one parent to step up and volunteer to be the team's scorekeeper.
At the beginning of each Season, Carson City Little League provides a scorekeeper training clinic. CCLL encourages parents to volunteer for scorekeeping in the Farm division to begin learning how to keep score, how to track pitch count, on-base percentages, hits, walks, and errors. As scorekeepers move up a division with their child, they become more adept at being a solid scorekeeper.
Help set a positive example - become a scorekeeper for your child's team!
You begin by filling in the player’s name using the team line-up. Use a second page to place the visiting team's line-up on a card. When each player comes to bat in an inning you fill in the small diamond with the appropriate code and actions taken.
The form appears complex but once examined makes perfect sense.
Innings run across the top. Spaces for the player name along the side. There are extra spaces for pinch hitters and extra spaces for an extra inning game. Each grid, where the inning and player name meet, has a small diamond that represents the actual playing field. Spaces on the right side of the sheet are used for tracking the players final statistics at the end of the game.
