Cheer News Letter 9-11-09

September 13^th is our Umass Walk for Cancer. It is listed on our calender of events, so you all should be aware of it, but we apologize for not giving out any specific information until today. This event is not mandatory, but it would be great to have as many of our cheerleaders and football players as possible there to show our support of such a great event.

This event takes place at the University Campus of Umass Worcester. Address is 55 Lake Ave North; Worcester, MA. Directions are as follows:

1: Merge onto MA-2 E

2: Merge onto I-190 S via Exit 33 toward LEOMINSTER/WORCESTER

3: Merge onto I-290 E via the exit on the LEFT toward SHREWSBURY/MARLBORO

4: Take the PLANTATION ST. exit, EXIT 21, toward WORCESTER

5: Take the PLANTATION ST. ramp toward RT-9

6: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto PLANTATION ST.

7: Turn LEFT onto NATURAL HISTORY Rd.

8: NATURAL HISTORY RD becomes LAKE AVE N.

9: End at 55 Lake Ave N.

If you'd like to caravan, please let us know and we can arrange a time to meet.

Registration is at 10:00 am, team pictures will be taken at 10:30 (they suggested individual association pictures, because our crowd is too big to take one picture ) so please make sure everyone is there on time. There will be activities in the kids tent if you want to come early, and a clown this year. There will also be Starbucks and Col stone Creamery.

All cheerleaders/players and coaches - MUST line up by 11:45 AM. Walk starts at 12:00.

Please have your child dressed in the white t-shirts and the cheer skirts we will be handing out today (Friday), just like they would for a game. Also, please make sure to follow all the safety rules..ex., hair pulled away from face, no jewelry, nail polish etc. Football players should be wearing their game jersey. Remember we are representing our Athol-Mahar Pop Warner Association, so please behave accordingly :-)

Just a reminder: The Fun Competition on October 11^th All You Can Eat Buffet tickets, along with your fee, need to be handed in by September 18^th . These tickets need to be purchased ahead of time. So don't forget!

October 18^th is this years Cheer Competition and we are looking for 4 more volunteers to help out. Anyone who volunteers at the competition will gain entry for free. There are 2 shifts, A.M and P.M. Please let one of your cheer staff know if you'd like to help out. Tickets will be $15.00 each. Times and more info will be given out at a later date.

Cheer Upcoming News Info

Starting Wednesday, September 2, 2009 Cheer practices will be held at the following locations from 5:00-7:00:

Tiny Mites: Mon., Wed. and Fri. at Fisher Hill Elementary School in Orange.

Mitey Mites: Monday and Friday at Dexter Park School in Orange.

Wednesday at Fisher Hill Elementary School in Orange.

Jr. Pee Wee: Mon, Wed. and Fri at Butterfield Elementary in Orange.

August 30^th is Jamboree! Please have your child dressed in the white t-shirts and red shorts we will be handing out today (Friday). September 8th (Tuesday), our monthly Parent Information/Board Meeting wil be held at Fisher Hill Elementary School from 7:00 till 9:00. All parent are more than welcome to attend.

October 11^th is this years North Fun Competition. Flowers and Cheer grams, for your cheerleaders, will be located inside for purchase all day. Please see attached paper for more details about the All You Can Eat Buffet. More info will also follow at a later date.

Location: Assumption College, Worcester, MA

North Fun Comp invites all teams to a day of fun, spirit, and to exhibit your routines before competing at CMPW competitions! Trophies will be awarded. Specialty awards will also be awarded for Super Spirit, Best Smiles, and Cutest Hair Bows in each session.

Admission fee for spectators: $5.00 per person. $3.00 per student (age 5-15). Under 5 free.

An All You Can Eat Buffet will be offered which includes: Pizza, pasta, deli, desserts & more! $9.00 for adults and $7.00 for Cheerleaders and children. Tickets need to be purchased ahead of time. If you would like to purchase tickets for the buffet, please fill out the form below and hand that, along with your fee, to either Chris Cooper, Cheer Coordinator or Carly Lloyd, Asst. Cheer Coordinator. PLEASE HAND THEM IN BY SEPTEMBER 18, 2009.
