All of these ladies have been standouts amongst their team in the eyes of the coaches. Congratulations to PA cheer present and past....you have helped to build up this program with your unwaivering dedication to Pinkerton Cheerleading!
The Coaches Award is selected by the coaching staff, and given to an outstanding young lady on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity team each season. The recepient of this award is usually someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis. This "ideal" athlete doesn't complain, gives 150% each game, practice or event, ALWAYS upholds the rules set forth by the school and the coaches, and places the TEAM as a high priority in their life. This candidate pushes to do her absolute best each day -- ON AND OFF the mat. She is someone the team and the coaches look to as a role model for excellence in every aspect of her life. She is someone that has spent a great deal of time on the Varsity mat and truly showed her longevity and her loyalty to the team. The Coaches Award is a true honor for anyone who recieves it. The decision for this award, although a tough one ... always ends up with the person MOST deserving.
Athlete of the Week Award for the Varsity team goes to the one individual who stands out in the weeks leading up to and through competition. Many factors go into selecting the lucky candidate to receive this award. This person gives her all each practice, motivates her team through the long hard practices, does her very best at the competitions, works well with her teammates, pushes to hit all the skills required of her while remaining a leader and a positive force on the mat. In the past this award has also been considered the "Unsung Hero Award" -- someone that helps her team clinch a victory or go the extra mile to help someone around her overcome and obstacle or push toward a goal.
