PR Points Program
MYAA Track and Field
“PR” Points Program
The MYAA Track and Field Coaches are once again pleased to announce our Personal Record “PR” Points Program as a way to recognize all of our athletes for their continued improvement.
The program works like this. All athletes will establish a new PR when they participate in an event for the first time. Returning athletes will not have their PR times/distances carry forward from last season – they start fresh like the new athletes
• Anytime an athlete competes in a new event, one which they have never tried before, they will receive a PR Point.
• Each time an athlete sets a new PR, betters their previous mark, they will receive a PR Point. All members of a relay team which betters the team’s top mark receive a point.
• Any athlete who participates in the 4 x 400m Relay (last event of the meet) automatically receives a PR Point.
When an athlete has accumulated the designated number of PR Points ( 8 for Primary, 10 for Bantam thru Midget, 12 for Youth and above), they will receive a certificate redeemable for 1 free ice cream cone/cup, water ice or a similar reward. If an athlete at least tries every event available to their age group, they will accumulate enough PR Points good for a certificate/reward.
Athletes are eligible to receive multiple rewards throughout the season. Additional certificates/rewards may be earned when athletes reach the next level (4 additional points for a Primary, 6 additional points for Bantam and above).
The PR Points totals will include all points earned throughout our season.
All marks achieved at our intra-squad meets and time trials are valid.
