Letter from our President

Greetings,

Dallas Youth Athletic Association is a nonprofit 501(C)(3) organization, that promotes athletic and leadership skills.  It was founded in March 2012 and is made up by a group of adult volunteers that seek to service our Dallas youth by funding baseball and soccer. DYAA is strictly a volunteer organization and does not seek to profit or gain any monies.

Dallas Youth Athletic Association is seeking businesses and organizations to help sponsor costs for the youth of Dallas to play either baseball or soccer in a safe family friendly environment.  DYAA works with Dallas Youth Baseball and Dallas Youth Soccer. DYB and DYS have continued to grow over the years and have expanded the number of youth participants and volunteers each year.  In 2015, we had 4,100 youth playing in our association either baseball or soccer. Our non-profit organization caters and serves over 350 volunteers. Fortunately for some of our players, many of our volunteers and coaches pay the registration fees out of their own pocket so that the kids may play.  However the extra out-of-pocket costs is at the expense of their family needs.

Sponsorship is being sought in hopes to assist DYB and DYS in lowering player registration costs in baseball and soccer.  Currently, the player registration fee helps to offset costs for field rentals, referees and umpires, and insurance for DYB and DYS. The City of Dallas does not provide free fields for practice or games for either league.  Field rentals are the main expense.  All fields must be rented per hour at various rates depending on the time of rental and if lights will be used.  In many cases, baseball and soccer teams look for open fields to practice.  However, these vacant fields are not meant for playing baseball or soccer in that they have no lighting and are not be maintained. Unforeseen holes and cracks in the ground as well as debris can cause injury to players, making it an unsafe environment to practice.  The second main expense is field equipment.  To avoid and/or lower costs, one baseball is often reused over and over for many of the games and/or practices.  In addition, bases for the baseball games have been reused for multiple years.  In soccer, the goal nets are continuously being replaced along with soccer balls.

On behalf of Dallas Youth Athletic Association, thank you for taking the time to consider sponsorship.  Nonetheless, any type of donation would be greatly appreciated.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully,

Benjamin De La Rosa

President of Dallas Youth Athletic Association
