Congratulations to Aaron Soto on being named player of the month. Aaron had a great month at the plate and on the mound. He went 9 for 16 and went 4-0 on the mound. He has found his stride on the mound and has had 5 great outings in a row. At the plate he is hitting the ball with authority. This is Aaron's first full time season with the Red Dogs, he had played temporarily for us in the past. We are very happy to have Aaron on the team. Aaron can also be counted to be a catcher if we need one. He was the first lefthander catcher in Red Dogs history. Congratulations Aaron!!

MAY 2009- RICKY MARRERO
Congratulations to Ricky Marrero on being named Red Dogs player of the month for May. Ricky started playing with the Red Dogs after our first tournament of this season and has blended very well in our team. He comes to play from the moment he steps on the field. A modern day Charlie Hustle. Ricky has a lot of flash due to his love for the game. He is a tremendously unselfish player, especially at the plate. Has 62 walks in 73 games played and easily leads the team in On Base Avg., the walks are due to his knowledge of the strike zone. You will not see Ricky swinging at bad pitches too often. He led the team in hitting in May with a .542 avg. (13 for 24) and had a .718 on base average. (due to 15 walks). Defensively Ricky keeps expanding his range and making the routine play look more routine day in and day out. He is definetly on the rise and were glad he's on our side. Congratulations Ricky!!!

MARCH 2009 - ALEX SARMIENTO
Congratulations to Alex Sarmiento for being named Red Dogs player of the month. Alex led the team in batting average in March going 20 for 41 for an average of .488, he walked 8 times, hit 3 triples and stole 6 bases on 6 tries. He also pitched 17 innings and went 2-0 on the mound and he saved one other game. Alex has been with the Red Dogs since December of 2007 and has played 229 games with the Red Dogs and has always been a great teammate and has behaved professionally. Alex will give you the shirt off his back. Alex is the type of player that is the ultimate team player. If you ask him what position he plays, he truly does not know the answer. Because he looks for the coach to tell him where to go. He has become an excellent defender in the outfield with that attitude and we do not hesitate to put him at third base or second base. Kind of Chone Figgins type. When other teams don't know Alex their outfielder will play 50 feet behind the infield because of his size but they very often find out that he has homerun power. It's great to see Alex developing nicely. We are very proud of him.
