Answer: Simply sign up for Intramural Baseball. Cal Ripken Majors or Minors is our small diamond (60 foot) baseball program. Playing in Cal Ripken Majors or Minors is the first step towards qualifying for tournament team participation. Do not sign up for travel baseball. Keep watching this web page for the announcement of the tourney team tryout schedule.
Cal Ripken Tourney teams are for players in grades 3rd thru 6th and some age qualified 7th graders. Tournament teams are formed out of the Cal Ripken Major and Minors leagues. You must play in the CAL RIPKEN LEAGUE to qualify for tournament teams.
If you are in 7th grade and your age qualifies you (you won’t be 13 until after April 30th of this year) to play for the Cal Ripken League tournament team, and you wish to play Cal Ripken, you must play in the Cal Ripken League and tryout for the tourney team. You may not play in both the Travel Baseball program and Cal Ripken league.
Tourney teams are also formed out of or 7/8/9 grade teeners league. These teams are formed based on level of interest from players and coaches.
Tourney teams are selected via tryouts of interested participants. Tryouts generally are scheduled after the Cal Ripken intramural league teams are formed. Tryouts usually begin in April. Schedules will be posted here. See below for last years info and schedule. This years should not be much different.
