The event will be held at the Newtongrange Star Football Social Club.
Tickets are now on sale, & available from members of the Fundraising Group & coaches.
This is a great opportunity to meet up with other Club parents - especially all our new parents & members - as well as having a great night & raising some Club funds.
See you there!
The newly reformed Fundraising Group organised a couple of fundraisers over the last few weeks of term.
A Treasure Hunt involved all Club members ( Thanks to Myra for the great maps) & a fantastic amount of money was raised by everyone who took part.
Kaitlyn Wallace was the winner of the prize for collecting the most sponsor money- well done Kaitlyn - what a great effort!
Running over a whole week in June, was the Holiday Fancy Dress, where every member attending classes paid £1 to dress up in their favourite holidays outfit to come to training.
There were some very interesting outfits from gymnasts - & coaches! Well done to everyone for joining in & making it a fun week- while raising funds for the Club!
THE FITNESS WHEEL IS HERE!!!
Big surprises at training on Sunday 20th March- the Fitness Wheel arrived at CETC! And some other tumbling & exercise equipment too!
Everyone had great fun opening all the packages to see what was inside - & have a go on all the fun stuff!
Ava & Madeline have been fundraising for many months to raise funds for the Wheel, & although they didn't manage to quite reach their target- they made a great effort! Well done girls!
Thanks to additional funding from Midlothian Council & CETC, the total needed was raised, which meant that the long-awaited equipment could be purchased.
Definitely looks like a fun & varied way to exercise!!!
DAVID'S WALK IN THE PENTLANDS!
On Saturday 11th March, Club helper David Connolly organised a walk up the Pentland Hills for Club members & friends.
Although the turnout could have been better - everyone who took part had a great day!
It took approximately 4 hrs to complete the middle option (ie the 2-hill version of the high level route), with everyone well kitted out for the trek.
Catriona was particularly good at keeping the others motivated - & and Taylor (Redpath) was justifiably proud of getting up the two big hills, including one which still had snow on it! Well done you!
Massive thanks to David for his hill walking & Duke of Edinburgh expertise, the time given to organising beforehand, & supervising everyone through the route on the day.
Great achievement everyone!
Club member David Connolly, has organised a family Club walk up the Pentland Hills, on Saturday 11th March.
David is an experienced hill- walker in his role as an assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme - so has plenty of knowledge of the hills.
Information has been emailed out to everyone- with the walk starting at Flotterstone at 10am, and finishing up there too - with an optional lunch at the Flotterstone Inn for anyone in need of sustenance (or some hydration!) after their walk!
Family & friends are welcome to come along too - dogs are also welcome, provided they are kept on a lead at all times (as it's lambing season)
It's a great opportunity to meet up with other Club parents & youngsters - so dig out those walking boots & come along & enjoy some fresh air & fun!

CETC Sponsored Spring Term Target
CETC are currently raising funds to replace two of the trampolines currently in use at The Lasswade Centre, to Ultimate 4x4 Eurotramps, which are used at most of the competitions,
so it is really important that we give our youngsters access to the correct equipment in Club, to support their development and give them the best chance of success at competitions.
Gymnasts have been given a sponsor sheet & will set themselves a (challenging!) personal target, to work towards over the next few weeks.
A percentage of the money collected by each gymnast will help pay their own personal class fees for next term - with the remainder collected going towards funds for the new trampolines!
We hope everyone will have fun setting and working on their targets, and hope that we can raise lots of money towards new trampolines!!! Thanks to everyone involved.
RAG BAG COLLECTION - JANUARY 2016
Coach Greig organised a 'Rag Bag' collection to help raise funds for the Club.

EDINBURGH GHOST TOUR
On Wednesday 11th June, those taking part met Lydia at the Mercat Cross - this was the site where people were tortured for their crimes in Old Edinburgh!
Lydia demonstrated 2 forms of torture on 2 very willing victims - Duncan ( Jenny's Stepdad ) and Steve ( Katie Brown's dad).
This was hilarious - although I am sure the real thing was horrendous! Lydia took the group to Parliament Square, to the area where the public hangings were carried out.
Margaret ( Katie Brown's mum) & myself were the victims this time! Too gruesome to tell you what happened!!!
From there, we went down a close to the underground part of the tour. By candlelight, we were told scary stories of Old Edinburgh.
It was a very fun and interesting evening!
Thank you to Jayne Clark for organising the tour, and to everyone who came along & supported the Club social event fundraiser.
Come to training in your pyjama’s or onesies on the week beginning Monday 2nd June until Sunday 8th June.

A donation of loose change would be appreciated, and if you train more than once in the week a donation of £3 would cover the whole week.
You must remember even although its pyjama week you must ensure they are suitable to be worn on the trampoline (no buttons/zips).
If you are unsure please bring a change of clothes to train in when you’re on the trampoline.
At each training session a prize will be issued for the best “pyjama outfit” – go on let's have some fun!!!

Sponsored Sommersaultathon – 1st July 2012!
CETC held a Sponsored Bounce on Sunday 1st July
with the aim of completing 12,000 sommersaults in 3 hours from 11am-2pm. This was a very tough challenge and meant that we needed to complete an average of 666 sommersaults on each of the 6 trampolines per hour!!! The Sponsored Bounce was organised to help members raise money to help pay for their new tracksuits.
The day was a huge success with members of all ages and abilities taking part. Thanks to all parents who stayed and helped throughout the day, counting sommersaults and taking orders, and to all coaches who helped support the kids throughout the day (and even took part - including Head Coach, Lauren Jeffrey!!)
Despite the huge challenge set, CETC once again rose to the challenge and smashed the target, completing a total of 18,469 sommersaults!!!!
That’s an average of 6156 per hour, 103 per minute and 560 per person!
Well done to everyone who took part! Think we need to go for a world record soon!
A huge thanks must go to Lasswade High School Centre who donated the hall time to us for this fundraising event.

We would appreciate some donations for the Tombola - and these can be handed in to the coaches at any of the classes, or on the day.
