Although the Alumni Association has always been active, over the years the interest and involvement had greatly diminished. In the summer of 2005, it came to the attention of several alumni that that he association was in desperate need of some new faces, renewed energy and new ideas. In the past 3 years, through the hard work of several people and the contributions of thousands of people, the Alumni is enjoying a renewed prominence that it may never have seen before. Here are some of the items;
In 2007 we awarded over $10,000.00 in scholarships to 12 deserving graduates In 2008 we awarded over $12,000.00 in scholarships to 14 deserving graduates Over the past 3 years we have averaged over 240 people at our annual banquet
There has been a number of scholarships set up by individuals to recognize people and give back to the community. Some examples are( Not a complete list):

She always attended the banquet from Seattle, Washington
We were fortunate enough, through several donations, to establish a Austin Alumni Scholarship Fund through the Community Foundation.
We have currently raised $14,400.00 dollars and have a commitment from the School District to match dollar for dollar, up to $25,000.00
We have incorporated and have achieved a full non-profit status as a 501-C-3 organization This fall we had our first annual Golf Scramble, it was an overwhelming success. We made over $2,800.00 profit.
How everyone can help. We have a number of fund raisers.
1.) We sell Bumper stickers- We have 2 styles they are $2.00 each. 2.) We sell rally towels- $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00 great for ballgames, Bowling, Golfing, etc. 3.)
