On March 22nd, 2009 Brandon Felts, a coach for three years in our league, died suddenly. He was 34 years old. Brandon was a great man, coach, father and friend. He will be missed by many and will live on in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife Genee, son Dallas 7, daughters Kennedy 6, Zoe 4, and 3 month old Phoebe. He was the coach this year of the Single A Cubs. There will be a moment of silence at this years opening day ceremonies as well as numerous fundraisers throughout the year.

It is with great sadness to let you all know that we lost another Great Father, Friend, Coach and Husband John Boles; the proud parent of AAA Orioles player Jordan Boles passed away on Tuesday, April 7th, 2009. As with Brandon his time on earth was cut way too short. He will be missed by many. I also would like to say that LYB Baseball has a great family and we will make it through these tough times together, but the most important thing to remember is that our Families and Children are #1. Take that extra minute out of your day to say I Love You, or Smile even when we might be having a bad day. Life is precious as we all know that the air we breathe and the baseball we watch between the lines can all go away in an instant and let us be THANKFUL and MINDFUL and not take for granted what we have each day.
