Mesquite Soccer Fall 2009 Player Pool Is Open

Mesquite Soccer would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone advance for their interest in Mesquite Soccer and for their love of the game.
On-line Registration is now open for our upcoming Fall 2009 soccer season. The deadline to enter is July 19, 2009. The tentative date scheduled for our player placement is July 27, 2009. Any player who enters our player pool after the deadline date will be placed on a waiting list.
If a player does not reside with the boundary lines of Mesquite ISD, then a player release will need to be obtained from the player's home (local) association. Once the approved release is on file with the MSA Registrar then the player is placed into the player pool for placement.
You will not be contacted until after the 27th of July by an MSA coach in regard to which team your child has been placed on. MSA anticipates the season to begin the weekend of August 22, 2009
All players are placed by age group and Middle School area (MISD)for the U12 and below age divisions. Middle School area does not apply to the U14 and above age divisions.
The coach determines the practice date, times and location.
Fall 2009 Season: Age groups are U5 - U19, both boys & girls. Players MUST be 4 years of age by July 31, 2009 to be eligible to register to play for the Fall 2009 season. If you should have any questions, you are welcome to call our MSA office. The office number is 972-285-7672.

Good to Know Facts about Soccer in Mesquite
Your child will be put into a blind pool draw. The pool draw is based on the Mesquite ISD Middle School area in which you reside for the U5 to U12 age divisions. For the U14 through U19 age divisions the pool draw will be based on age and gender only. Once placed on a team the Coach will contact you with all of the information that you will need concerning practices, uniforms, registration fees, etc. All coaches undergo background checks. Each child is entitled to equal playing time in regular games, playoff games and tournaments.
ALL U12 and below recreational teams playing in Mesquite Soccer Association are required to have five (5) parents work two (2) hours in the concession stand each soccer year.
Required Player Releases
Player Releases Guideline/Policy Effective December 1, 2008. MSA has adopted new guidelines and policies in regard to players being released outside of Mesquite Soccer Association's boundary lines. Please make special note that players may only "considered" which means that there is no guarantee that the release will be signed and the player release. Please "click" on the link provided for the "New" guidelines/policies.
Any player who does not attend school within the Mesquite ISD (which includes Balch Springs & Sunnyvale) must obtain a player release from their local soccer association before they will be allowed to be placed into the player pool and register to a team. MSA reserves the right to request proof of Residence (electric or water bill) as part of a player's registration paperwork.
If you wish to entered your child into MSA's seasonal player pool and do not reside within our boundary lines, it will be the parent's sole responsibility to obtain the required player release from your local association. MSA is not responsible in providing any assistance in regard to player releases.
Sponsorship Program
The Mesquite Soccer Association Sponsorship Program provides a limited number of sponsorships, which enables individuals to participate in recreational youth soccer who would otherwise be excluded due to financial challenges. Call the Mesquite Office for more information at 972-285-7672.
TOPSoccer Program
TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for youg athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, ages 4 - 21, who has a mental or physical disability. Our goal is to enable the thousands of young athletes with disabilities to become valued and successsful members of the US Youth Soccer and the North Texas Soccer family.
