The Fairport girls volleyball program has started a new community service and fundraiser tradition, and they welcome the participation of the whole community. The first phase involved the varsity team working on-site for a day at a Habitat for Humanity build in Geneva for the Bailey Family. Next comes the Mattress Sale, a fundraiser to be held at the Fairport VFW on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
The public is invited to shop at this sale for top-quality new mattresses discounted up to 60 percent off retail price. Mattresses are on display in a store-like setting and may be tested for comfort. The volleyball program will then contribute a portion of the mattress sale profits toward the purchase of mattresses for the Bailey Family when the house is ready for occupancy in late fall.
Spectators at home matches will have the chance to contribute to this season-long effort by donating the change from their concession stand purchases. Finally, the JV team will participate at the build-site by helping with landscaping in the fall.
Visit our site www.fairportgirlsvolleyball.com  for more details on supporting these efforts!
