Players must be 13 on or before April 30, 2024.

There are Skills Assessments for this Division, April 14th & April 28th, 2023 at Lathrop High School.

Playing Season: Practices and games start Mid-May depending on weather and the condition of the playing fields, and run through the end of July.  Two games and two practices are scheduled per week, with the possibility of a Friday practice.

Game Duration and start times:  Games are 7 innings in duration starting promptly at 6:00pm and 8:00pm, and are to last no longer than 1 hours – 50 minutes. No inning shall start after 7:40pm (early game) or 9:40pm (late game).

Umpires will officiate all games.

Players will pitch and catch at games.

Fundamentals taught: All Pony fundamentals, how to hit behind the runner, 2-strike hitting, more bunting, advanced base running, double plays, accurate throws, runner on second, IBL rules specific to the Pony division. 

Pitching fundamentals taught: All Pony fundamentals, pitching rules, control, velocity, movement, and pitching strategies.

Required equipment: Baseball cleats (metal are allowed, or plastic), baseball glove, cup recommended (required for all catchers). 

Bat size:  In conjunction with USA Baseball and its other participating national member organizations, PONY Baseball has adopted the new USA Baseball bat standard (USABat). Effective January 1, 2018, with the exception of -3 (BBCOR certified), all other 2 1/4" and 2 5/8" barrel bats with a minus factor of (-5, -7, -9, etc.), must be USABat certified with the USABat licensing stamp on the bat in order to be used for league and tournament play. All 2 1/4" and 2 5/8" minus factor bats -5, -7, -9, etc. used in 2017 will be illegal to use in 2018.

$265 Registration Fee includes: Team baseball hat, team shirt, baseball pants, belt and socks.
