When you have the late game!!!

You must make sure all of the opposing team is off the field, the bathrooms are locked and all the gates, sheds and front gate is locked!!!! If you do not have a bathroom key , please contact John Montchal

Managers please remember as usual we have reserve both fields for the NJBL Memorial Day Tournament. The tournament will run Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Please do not schedule regular practices or games on the filed on these days.

8U TRYOUTS MAY 23rd, 5:30, AT BAYMEN !!!!

Scheduling a Make-up game

1) Check schedule below for availability.
2) Confirm with opposing manager on date and time.
3) Contact Richard Montchal for field availability via e-mail.
4) When you get a confirming e-mail back, officially change the game.
5) Contact Baymen Managers who you are bumping out of practice.(phone numbers listed in Contact Info on left side toolbar)
6) Do not assume that if it is your practice day you have 1st shot, It is first come first serve.
7) you can not reserve dates, if it is not on the NJBL schedule in a timely matter you may lose the spot.
8) Seniority does not reflect who gets the field, you can not bump another team that has a scheduled game , because you have "seniority".

Saturday Practices
Always check that no games have been scheduled on your practice time slot.

Pinner is Fixed

Mike Singh has fixed the pinner and he suggested some ideas that might help the pinner lasting longer
1) do not put gas in the oil side. If gas goes into the oil it must be drained and replaced. It is a special oil and cost $100 dollars to replace. If the gas is left in with the oil it eats away at the gaskets.
2) do not put the grate on top of the machine , the dirt is getting into the gas and oil.
3) wash down the machine every once in a while , cover the gas and oil caps with plastic and keep the water away from that area.

.

Big field is starting to look better

Every manager that is playing on the big field should spend a little time at the end of each practice and pull some weeds , ther are three small hand tools in the big shed that can be used....take pride in your field it look terrible...

Manager meeting reminders

There must by a signed permission sheet on file with the LI Baymen Baseball Club's President, John Montchal for each player on every team. John must also receive with your team's permission sheets a list of your roster, which includes each player’s name, phone number and birth date.

Each team was asked if they wanted to order August "Daily Number" lotto tickets - they will be ordered the week of February 20th, and distributed at the March 15th Managers' Meeting.
Each team will pay their winners from their funds.

Discussion about scheduling annual pictures in advance this year. Eric R. suggested getting order sheets to the managers for distribution before "Picture Day". Marie will do.
Scheduled date: Friday, September 8th. John will ask Matt if it is ok to do at Play Like a Pro. Every team must participate, and there will be a per player charge of between $20 - $25.

Managers asked to submit the list of tournaments they will be participating in. This will help in knowing field availability.

Practice times were decided, and have been given to
Richard Montchal to put onto the web site. Directions to be followed: Anyone not utilizing their practice time for any reason, or if they are moving a game, must email johnmontchal@aol.com, cc montchal@telephonics.com

Time will be taken off the field schedule, which is on the web site. Any manager requesting a time that is shown as vacant on the web site must call Rich 631-255-7662 to ask for that time slot. Once approved email must be sent to the above, so that the web site can be updated.

Field Maintenance days scheduled for March 4th and 5th. Every team must participate. Please let John know as soon as possible as to which day (days) you and your team will be working on the field. John will be order products for the field.

Next Meeting: March 15th, 7 P. M., Play Like a Pro. Final field payment is due.

AWARDS DINNER: Jan. 29th was great time! All the boys looked great. WOW how manty trophies did they get? How big was the Baymen Lightning trophy. Great Job Managers!!!!

PRACTICE TIMES SCHEDULED: It is important that the fields be used to full capacity. If you are not going to use your scheduled practice time for any reason, we all agreed to send an email to the Group of Managers. If someone wants to use that vacated spot mail the group of managers back to utilize that time slot.

ALL MAKE UP GAMES ON THE BAYMEN FIELDS MUST BE COORDINATED BY JOHN MONTCHAL SO THERE ARE NO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS.

PERMISSION SLIPS - You must have a signed permission sheet for each player on your team. If you do not, and need some, obtain them immediately. Have these also signed before tryouts. John will need a copy of all permission slips this year. this is a new requirement and will need to be done every year from now on.

Everyone agreed to fill in holes in the batter box and pitching mound DO IT !!!. Check for holes in outfield and fill in as needed so no injury results from them. Lets keep our fields great!!!
Small field for 60' uses heavy bases without plugs, and plug in bases for 75'.
Plugs MUST BE PUT INTO THE HOLES AT THE END OF EVERY GAME on both fields. (We plan to buy "yellow brush" plugs.)we bought them and they we lost in a weeks time!

Do not leave lime in the spreader it ruins it. Fill the spreader 1/4 of the way and fill again as needed.
You must be sure that field, sheds, bathrooms and batting cages are completely secured before leaving the field at the end of the day.

After John's approval e-mail Rich Montchal all changes to longislandbaymen@yahoo.com so web site can be updated.
