Poms must be used for 80% of the routine. Pom incorporates different styles of dance with the sharp motions of cheer. Important aspects of a pom routine include synchronization and visual effect, clean and precise motions, strong pom technique, and dance technical elements. Visual effect includes level changes, group work, formation changes, the use of different color poms, etc.

Our goal is to compete at 4-6 competitions, including Finals, between Dec-May. A complete listing of competitions will be available in June. We may also participate in community and charity events.

How often will we practice?

We plan to practice once per week starting in June. Practices will be 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Does everyone get placed on a team?

The biggest determining factor will be the age of the dancer. The number of dancers registered will also play a part in what division the teams compete. A minimum of 4 dancers is required to compete.

Is tumbling and stunting involved in pom?

No. The only “tumbling” that may be used is forward or backward rolls.

High Voltage All Stars Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 organization. We provide numerous fundraising opportunities throughout the year to help off set the costs of cheer and dance.

During the summer, we work the Shorebirds Concession stands as a fundraiser. If you are a registered member and attend a training session, you can fundraise over the summer to help with your dance costs.
