Sub varsity Concession Schedule Posted - revised 3/5/13
oFinally, if you click ‘Calendars’ and pull down ‘Concession Duty’ you will see it in calendar form.
In the event of a conflict between the printed schedule and the one listed on the website, the listed one is ALWAYS the correct one.
Whenever possible, Sophomore parents have been assigned to work during JV games and JV parents have been assigned to work during Soph games so that no one has to miss seeing their kid play.
We are fortunate this year as we are being allowed to set up the concession stand at the baseball field for all games when we are working concessions. The only time it will be at the shed is when baseball families are not assigned.
In order to avoid issues we have all seen arise in the past, please adhere to the following:
Guidelines:
-You are responsible for your shift – if there is a conflict it is up to you to find a replacement (please don’t ask us to find one for you).
-If you do swap, email that information, in advance, towebmaster@ridgepointpanthers.orgor else you will still be held responsible for that shift.
-Please be considerate of the other people working and be on time for your shift.
Options:
·ANYONE from your family may work your shift so long as they are at least 12 years old.
·You may have someone outside your family work for you, so long as they meet the age requirement and are reliable and responsible. You must email their name to thewebmaster in advance (whether or not they show up is still your responsibility).

Volunteer Opportunities for Players
April 4, 2013
Players:
Coach Collier has asked me to forward these two volunteer opportunities to you. Please consider helping if you can.
Thank you.
You may know that the Sienna Plantation Youth Baseball League started a Dream Teams division for kids with special needs. Our next game is this Saturday, April 6 at 8:30 am on Field 4 and we are in need of lots of volunteer angels (i.e., Panther players) to assist the kids with base running and defense. No training is necessary - just plan to come out and have fun. > >The remaining games are listed below in the event you are free. We know that our Panther games come first, but we would appreciate any time you can spare when your schedule allows. As an added bonus, we wil certify service hours for volunteers who need them for this semester. > >Thanks - and hope to see you at the fields! > >Deanne Hernandez >Jake's mom (14U Purple) and also mom to Brooke, an enthusiastic Dream Teams player >hernandez44@entouch.net > >Dream Teams schedule > >Saturday, April 06, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, April 20, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, April 27, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, May 04, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, May 11, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, May 18, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, May 25, 2013 8:30 am Field 4 >Saturday, June 01, 2013 8:30 am Field 4
Parents/Volunteers,
As previously communicated, Sienna Plantation is playing host to the Sienna Slam Nations Baseball Tournament (April 13th and 14th).
In order to prepare for this tournament, we are in need of volunteers.
We have 3 opportunities that you can choose from coming up:
·Field Maintenance Day
·Sienna Slam Tournament
·Concession Stand Duties
Field Maintenance Day will be this Sunday, April 7th, from 2-5 pm. This will include light field work as well as cleaning up the batting cages. We anticipate needing about 12-15 volunteers.
Sienna Slam Tournament is on April 13th and 14th. We need volunteers to prepare the fields in between games. This includes chalking the field, dragging and raking the dirt. This too will be in 3 hours shift, and we will most likely need 25 volunteers for each day.
Concession Stand Duties are also going to be available for volunteer work during the tournament.
For your convenience, we are including Sign up Genius links to each volunteer opportunity. Please note the Sienna Slam Concessions Sign Up also has other tournament dates listed, as Sienna is hosting a Nation's tournament in May as well. While you are welcome and we encourage you to volunteer for as much as your schedule allows, at this time we are primarily focused on getting the April 13th and 14th dates filled14th
As of now, Soph and Varsity WILL play today. Note, Soph game is pushed back to 5:30 start at RPHS. Varsity 7:00 at Marshall.
Teacher Appreciation Day
Baseball and Softball are serving breakfast at 6:30 am. All players are to report to school no later than 6:30 AM this Friday, April 12th to greet and serve. Wear your team t-shirt.

Friday night was the stuff dreams are made of, or as close as it gets in the regular season for the Ridge Point Panthers. District undefeated Tomball Cougars were on the field for the second meeting of the season for the two. Tomball entered the game with the H5AB-4A #1 State, & Local ranking, as well as the Baseball America #15 nationally ranked team.
The Panthers were not swayed and along with brilliant pitching completely shutting down the Tomball scoring machine, Ridge point was able to plate four runs and shut out the Cougars 4-0 handing them their first district loss of the season.
Congratulations to the Ridge Point Panthers
TURFINGTEXAS.com H5AB-4A "TEAM OF THE WEEK" #8-2103
The schedule has Varsity playing Santa Fe next Friday, April 26. We scheduled that late last year but after speaking to their coach earlier in the week we have decided to cancel that game.
We have a chance of playing Santa Fe in the second round of the playoffs and neither one of us wanted to play if that were the case.
Instead Varsity will Play against our JV on Thursday, April 25th. Time TBA, but probably after school.

As the players know, and the parents might know - wristbands for the Prom are being put on all attendees wrists during lunch Friday. The wristband is their ticket.
Because of the playoff game, any varsity player attending the Prom should NOT come to the tables during lunch on Friday. At the conclusion of Friday's game(s), Mrs. Jakubik and I will have the wristbands with us to put on the boys at that time.
Please note we must physically put the wristband on the boys; we cannot hand it to them or their parents. If anyone is bringing a non-RPHS guest, we will also pass out their wristband after the game.
Please let me know if there are any questions.

Pitching and defense carried the Ridge Point softball team to its first Region III-4A quarterfinal championship May 10, as the Lady Panthers swept Santa Fe 2-1 and 1-0.
The Lady Panthers will face Little Cypress-Mauriceville in the regional semifinals for a three-game series, while the Ridge Point baseball team continues its longest postseason run against District 22-4A rival Tomball in the regional quarterfinals.
Ridge Point’s softball team received a complete-game two-hitter from Amber Grove in the series opener. Cortni Emanuel provided the Lady Panthers’ first run in the third inning, scoring Bri Nunn.
Ridge Point won in the bottom of the seventh as LeeAnn Thompson, Sydni Emanuel and Kendall Burton singled in succession to open the frame and end the game.
Kate Patel pitched a shutout in the second game, striking out four and scattering eight hits without a walk. Santa Fe loaded the bases twice in the first inning but lost two runners on the basepaths, the last thrown out at home by Burton.
Sydni Emanuel led the Lady Panthers offensively, with an RBI double in addition to a walk and two stolen bases. Emily Keithley and Cortni Emanuel had the only other hits in game two. Santa Fe had two singles in the seventh inning but could not push across the tying run.
The Panthers swept their area playoff series against Santa Fe, 1-0 and 7-6 in eight innings. Cade Killingsworth was excellent in game one, allowing five hits while striking out six in a shutout.
Tyler Caldwell drove in the game’s only run after T.J. Alexander singled and J.B. Aguirre stole second as a courtesy runner.
Will Vest was among the offensive leaders in game two, with J.T. Jakubik turning in a solid start and helping Ridge Point lead much of the contest until Santa Fe rallied.
The Panthers face District 22-4A champion Tomball next. The Cougars bring a 29-2 record into the regional quarterfinal series, but their only district loss was 4-0 against Ridge Point.

Ridge Point’s Cade Killingsworth did it not just with his arm, but with his bat as well. The University of Houston commit pitched four innings to earn the victory and belted a three-run, go-ahead home run that helped the Panthers (23-10) hold off the Tomball Cougars (28-4) by a score of 8-6, in Game One of the UIL State Baseball Region III Quarterfinals (best-of-three), Thursday night at Stratford HS.
Cougars head coach Doug Rush decided to start pitcher Bryce Wellborn, choosing to reserve his two best starters in Robert Dugger and Eric Dunbar presumably for Games Two and Three. But Welborn immediately got into trouble by loading the bases in the first inning, and had to be relieved by Stephen Bonnain.
Ridge Point got one run in the first before Tomball touched Killingsworth for three in the bottom half. The Cougars held a 5-3 lead after just two innings, but the turning point in the game came when Killingsworth connected for a three-run homer in the top of the third off Bonnain that gave Ridge Point a 6-5 advantage. T.J. Alexander then immediately followed with a solo shot to give the Panthers a two-run cushion.
“The home run really gave us all back some confidence that we were in this game,” said Killingsworth. “This is the deepest I’ve ever been into the playoffs in my four years here, so I’m just out here trying to have some fun.”
Tomball got one back in the third, but Ridge Point added another in the top of the fifth to make it 8-6. The Panthers then had to pull Killingworth from the mound after the righty had thrown 114 pitches. Will Cinek took the ball for the Panthers, and the Cougars loaded the bases off him with one out. But, he struck out Ishmael Edwards, and then got Dillon Menville to fly out, ending the threat.
Tomball collected back-to-back singles by Dunbar and Nick Falcone with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but Cinek escaped the jam again by getting Casey Smith to ground into a double play.
After Bonnain held the Panthers in the top of the seventh, Cinek gave up a one-out double to Nick Banks before getting Anthony Lucas to ground out. That left it up to Edwards, who popped up to end the game.
“Cade was a little off tonight, but he kept us in this game, and Cinek did a really nice job for us,” said Panthers head coach Jody Albright. “We overcame some mistakes – we were shaky defensively which is not normal for us - and we just found a way to win this one.”
Killingsworth went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and a pair of runs scored, while allowing six runs (three earned) in 4.0 innings pitched, with seven strikeouts and four walks. Menville went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI for the Cougars, while Nick Banks had a pair of hits and scored twice.
“We didn’t play a terrible game, we scored six runs and had a chance to win,” said Cougars head coach Doug Rush. “I like our pitching matchups with Robert and Eric going for us in the next two, but Ridge Point is a good baseball team. We’re going to have to hit the ball better when we have scoring opportunities, than we did tonight.”
It was the third game between the two teams this year. They met one another twice earlier this season, with Tomball winning the first meeting 9-8 at home. The Cougars then traveled to Ridge Point and were shut out 4-0, as the Panthers handed them their only district loss back on April 12.
The series continues Friday night with Game Two of the best-of-three at Stratford. If a third game is needed, it will be played Saturday at 2 pm, also at Stratford. The winner of this quarterfinal series will meet the winner of the Nederland vs. Montgomery series, in the regional semifinals.

Subvarsity will play at Falls today at 4:30/7. Comment from the Clear Falls baseball coach: Our address may not come up accurately on your GPS so here is what I suggest:
Take hwy 6 to Alvin. At Alvin go east on Hwy 517. Turn left onto 646. Go north on I-45 to Hwy 96. Exit and turn right on Hwy. 96. Go about 5 miles and we will be on the right. If you see the Mar Bella sub-division or Hwy 146, you have gone too far.
March 22, 2012
Schedule Change - Subvarsity Only Santa Fe has informed us they have a coaching conflict for the subvarsity games scheduled for this coming Monday. Therefore, the games have been moved to Tuesday, March 27th.

Family Fun Day
FromCoach Albright:
To make sure that we are not scrambling around that day can you please let Carla know who will be playing in the game. Remember there is no limit to the amount of parents that can play in the field, but the kids can only have 8 players on the field. The parents will also have a kid catching unless I decide to bring back the good ole days and put the gear on that day
This Saturday, March 31, 2012 is Family Fun Day for our Baseball Program. It is a family picnic for players's families, players and coaches to get together
and hang out for a day of fun. Carla will be sending out a Signup Genius so that we can get a head count and you can sign up for a dish to bring.
FOOD: (Served 11:30 am - 1:00 pm) Everyone needs to bring a side dish and their own drinks (non-alcohol) We will have beef fajita tacos that Cody Payne has graciously offered to cook. We will sell them for $1 each just to cover the cost. FESTIVITIES:

Possible Rain Outs
March 29, 2012
In the case of a rain out on Friday we are forced to play on the next available day which will be Saturday. We will play the subvarsity games at 12 and 2:30 and the varsity game will start at 2. This would obviously delay family day. That is out of our control.
We will have to find the next available day for family day if it rains out. Next weekend is out because of Easter so we will determine it later. Lets hope that the rain holds off in our area

Player's Gear
January 25, 2013
Click here for the order form for shoes and varsity white helmet and a pullover for whoever wants it.
The pullover is for dads, kids, moms, or anyone else who chooses to have one. For the past 2.5 years people have been asking me to let the parents get one of these pullovers so here it is.
It is not too heavy and not too light so it will be comfortable in the cool breezy evenings.
The black shoes are for the subvarsity and the white and gray are for the varsity.
If there is a particular shoe that you find in those specific colors contact Ashley whose information is on the flier.
Their prices are way cheaper than you getting it anywhere else.
The ordering closes on February 1st.
For those individuals that are not sure if they are going to make a team. The final cuts will be made on January 27th so I would wait and see what the final teams are before placing an order.
All varsity players are safe to order.
You can click here for a direct link to order. Team Code is albrig4PT

Saints-Panthers win the AABC regional qualifier held at HBU
July 19, 2011
The team went 5-0 scoring over 40 runs with an explosive offense with every player contributing multiple hits and RBI’s. The Panther pitching staff shut down their opponents and all 6 Panther pitchers deserve credit with multiple appearances and victories. Panther’s defense did manage to turn multiple double plays over the weekend and even one triple play in the championship game on Sunday.
The boys have been fun to coach and I have enjoyed watching them grow over the last few months. This is an exciting group because they all go to the same high school (Ridge Point High School) and will be competing in their first varsity season in the 24 4A district next spring. The Panthers are ready and are heading to Dallas to play in the AABC tournament next week. -Coach Collier
