GC Summer Lax is a joint effort that brings together the Garden City Youth Lacrosse organization (GCYL) and Steve Finnell.
GC Summer Lax was designed to offer a more convenient and cost effective alternative to other "pay for play" leagues located throughout Long Island, and to capitalize on the notable and extensive lacrosse expertise of Coach Finnell. Finnell will play an integral role in overseeing this organization both as an active coach and general manager of the Garden City teams.
Our goal for the summer program is to provide an opportunity for the boys to improve on what they learned during the current spring season, and to provide them with instruction, in both practice and game settings, that will enable them to continue to develop their individual skills and understanding of the game.
For 2017 Summer Season, we are expanding the GC offering to include Rising 4th through Rising 7th grade teams. Each grade level will have an appropriate practice and tournament schedule. The younger grades will offer balanced teams, while the older grades will offer a more competitive tryout team structure. It should be noted that the GC program is intended to offer an appropriate level of competition and training to all boys interested in participating.
Similar to this past season, all teams will have coaches with extensive playing and coaching experience and practices in Garden City at the St Paul’s fields.
