2005 New Jersey District 10 Eleven Year Old Champions

Established 2008

League Pledge:

I trust in God.

I love my country and will respect its laws.

I will play fair and strive to win.

But win or lose, I will always do my best.

Mission Statement:

To promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Milltown Baseball & Softball.

Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Milltown Baseball & Softball program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Milltown Baseball & Softball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

The Milltown Baseball & Softball Program is a chartered Little League Program and a proud member of New Jersey District 10 Little League.

Please Help Put An End To The Vandalism In Milltown's Parks!

Should anyone see anybody damaging Milltown's parks, restrooms or fields, phone the police immediately at 732-828-2100. Those responsible will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Thank You!

A Reminder To All Involved In Youth Baseball:

He is just a little boy.

He stands at the plate with his heart pounding fast. The bases are loaded; the die has been cast.

His parents can't help him; he stands all alone, a hit at this moment would send his team home. The ball nears the plate, he swings and he misses. There's a groan from the stands, with some loud boos and hisses. A father's voice cries, "Strike out this bum!" The batters eyes fill, (is this game fun?)

He's just a little boy or girl, who stands all alone, and at times like this he would rather be home. So open your heart and give him a break, for its moments like this, an adult you can make. Keep this in mind when you hear someone forget. He's just a little boy and not a man yet!

No Smoking Policy

Milltown Baseball & Softball has adopted a NO SMOKING Policy. If you must smoke, please do so by the Parking Area. In addition, if our Program is utilizing one of Milltown's Public Schools, there is to be NO SMOKING whatsoever on School Property.

Thank You For Your Cooperation!

Please Be Careful When Parking In The Borough Park Parking Lot!

Please proceed slowly and watch for the children.

Thank You!

What Is Commitment And Why Is It Important?

Commitment-to bind, as a promise; pledge or obligation

The backbone and driving force of achievment is commitment. Getting good grades in school requires commitment. So does athletic prowess. Simply put, success requires commitment.

"Individual commitment to a group effort--that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work."

-Vince Lombardi - Hall of Fame Coach of the Green Bay Packers Football Team and the man the Superbowl Trophy is named for.

Please Do Your Part And Keep Milltown Parks Clean!

Please pick up after yourself and put litter in its place.

Thank You!

Winners Make A Choice

To get something out of all situations, rather than complain about them
To hustle, rather than dog it
To be prepared, rather than just show up
To be consistent, rather than occasional
To be early, rather than late or just on time
To want to learn, rather than explain or excuse
To do more, rather than just enough
To be mentally tough, rather than mentally lazy or intimidated
To concentrate on what to do, rather than what may result
To be agressive, rather than passive or submissive
To think of a solution, rather than worry about problems
To accept adversity as part of the game-and of life
To share with and help others, rather than be selfish
To think and act positively, rather than negatively
To believe in yourself and your teammates

Being A Champion

The challenge of being a champion is not as monumental as many believe. Rather it is doing all the little things with excellence all the time. Not cutting corners, doing the best at all possible times. With this in mind, we believe in loyalty, work ethic, and a dedication to the program and teammates that can never be compromised.

Something For The Players To Think About:

It's alright to fail because failure teaches us everything about success. Practice and play your games as though you are trying out to make the team. Don't press, just work hard and always do your best. That's all anyone can ask for.

Something For The Coaches To Think About:

A kid doesn't care how much you know until he knows how much you care.

Chill Out, Dad!

My Coach says to choke up more.
My Dad yells out I'm fine.
Coach says use a 28 bat.
Dad shouts 29!

Which one do I listen to?
What's a boy to do?
I'm only ten years old and they're both forty-two!

Someone will get angry and I'm stuck in the middle. How do you think that I can solve this very difficult riddle?

I know! I know! I've got it!
Can this really work?
I hope that neither one of them will think that I'm a jerk!

Somehow I will get the Coach to tell my Dad the facts. That there's only just one coach. Dad, will you relax!

Just watch the game and laugh a lot.
Cheer, don't shout advice. Maybe you'll find that watching games can actually be nice!

-Bill Shane
