MESSAGE FROM THE NIFC EXECUTIVE BOARD
Athletes, Parents and Coaches,
Welcome to the 2008 NIFC Football Season. To Belvidere North, Genoa-Kingston, Roscoe-Rockton, North Boone, Sycamore, Winnebago, Ken-Rock, and Win-Du-Pec, thank you for making our inaugural 2007 season a success. To Kaneland, Burlington (CYFL), and Christian Life, welcome to the Northern Illinois Football Conference!
As those of you that have been with us from the beginning know, we feel we have built something special in the NIFC. Our goal has been to build a league based on integrity and excellence. In looking back at the 2007 season, we feel that we have met our goal. We’ve accomplished it by bringing together programs from communities that share the same values in regards to teaching fundamental football skills and good sportsmanship in an environment that promotes healthy competition.
Looking forward, the key to maintaining the league we’ve created is you. Athletes, parents, coaches, and volunteers have made the NIFC the success it is today. If we are to continue to build on that past, it will be on the shoulders of these same individuals. That success will continue through reinforcing commitment to our beliefs every day in practice and demonstrating them through our conduct and respect for the other team (and the game of football) on the field Saturday.
It’s important that as we make decisions regarding what to teach our children and how to guide our organizations, that we keep in mind the best interest of all of the athletes in the NIFC, not just those of our own organizations.
We hope that everyone’s experience this year is a positive one and thank you for being a part of the excellence of the NIFC.
Looking forward to a 2008 season filled with great stories of competition and sportsmanship.
