5-18-08 The Pirates experienced the finesse and versatility of the defending Champions first hand. The Whatcom County Raiders are true to form a championship caliber team. The Pirates opened up the game with an onside kick to retrieve the ball in the first half. Robbie Lavata'i played QB filling in for the injured Nick Lunzer. Robbie passed for the a total of 85yards 3completions and rushed for 112yards total. Marcus Sagapolutele rushed for 132 all purpose yards. Shane racked up 113 yards for the day with a couple of receptions and some rushing yards. The Pirates defense was hard hitting with the addition of Gee and Tee and Jeff former Invaders, with this new addition the Pirates defense and Special team will be a little bit more explosive come the second half of the season. The Pirates will be hosting the Snohomish County Thunders in 3 weeks.
5-11-08 The Pirates game against the hosting Invaders started off with a great return by Nick Lunzer for 47 yards on the opening kickoff. Junior had good gains during his stint at the A-back position but was later taken out due to injury. Junior Niko had a blocked PAT and had 6 Tackles and 11 assisted Tackles. Paul and Lil Jack shared a sack and Segi coming in at half time contributed to the Pirates defensive attack with an assisted sack on the Invaders QB. Fa'avae defensive captain maintained a strong hold on the Invaders Offensive line. The MVP of this game goes to Robbie for stepping up to the plate and helping the offense when the starting QB Nick Lunzer fell to injury. Robbie the starting TE filled in at QB and rushed for 78 yards total and racked up 2 pancakes against the defense. Junior who plays Fullback had 3 pancakes. This was an exciting game, come out to support and watch our home game this weekend at PHS.
5-4-08 The Pirates would like to thank Fa'avae, Junior, Junior laititi, Robbie, Pelesasa, Sila, Gene, and the rest of the Pirates family and fans for coming out to support our first home game. WE ARE UPDATING THE WEBSITE AND WE'LL HAVE VIDEOS UP SOON!
