2008 Registration Information
Registration for the 2008 Piscataway Braves Pop Warner football and cheering program is as follows:
Returning Participants
(Must have participated in 2007 and completed entire 2007 season including playoffs)
*Registration information will be sent via ground mail the week of March 31, 2008.
*The registration deadline for retuning football players and cheerleadres is FRIDAY, MAY 23, 2008.
New Participants
(did not participate in 2007)
*Football:
For residents ages seven through fifteen years. Age and weight requirements are set by the National Pop Warner. Players must turn seven before August 1, 2008 and cannot turn fifteen until after July 31, 2008. Registration will be held in the Municipal Building on WEDNESDAY ONLY, June 4, 2008 between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Players must register before being eligible to practice. Birth certificates and accurate body weight must be provided when registering. Space is limited to 35 players per squad.
*Cheering
For girls who turn seven before August 1, 2008, and do not turn fifteen until after July 31, 2008. Registration will be held on, WEDNESDAY ONLY, June 4, 2008 in the Municipal Building, between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Space is limited.
Piscataway Braves Pop Warner
The Piscataway Braves Pop Warner Football and Cheering Program is a free youth sports program for Piscataway residents ages 7-15. The program is sponsored and administered by the Piscataway Township Department of Recreation. Piscataway Pop Warner, established in 1961, is now in its 46th season of youth football and cheering. The program is comprised of four football teams and four cheering squads known as the Midgets, Pee Wees, Junior Pee Wees and Mitey Mites. The Mitey Mite program was started in 1997. Practices are held at Quibbletown Park. Home games are played at Piscataway High School. The Braves are members of the Central Jersey Conference where they compete in Division One - Red.
All participants who require corrective eyeglasses must wear ASTM approved sports protective eyeware with shatterproof lenses.

Contribute to the Jeff Fox Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Jeff Fox Memorial Scholarship Fund is designed to create a scholarship fund to:
• Memorialize Jeff Fox; his character and being as well as his volunteer spirit and his many contributions to our community and its youth, especially through his involvement in the Piscataway Recreation Middle School Basketball League and Pop Warner football program.
• Award two annual scholarships in Jeff’s memory to two deserving graduating seniors at Piscataway High School. The scholarships, which will be awarded at the PHS Senior Awards Night program, will be given to a graduating football player who played Pop Warner and a graduating basketball player, whether a boy or girl, who played Middle School basketball. The recipients will be chosen by the PHS football and basketball coaches.
Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money to allow the fund to eventually be self-sustaining through interest earnings and dividends as well as future contributions.
We need everyones assistance to generate initial ‘seed’ money for the scholarship fund. Please consider making a donation in support of this very worthy endeavor. No contribution is too small or too large. All donations will be tax deductible once the fund obtains a tax exempt ID number.
