Resiliency
Resiliency. The Pee Wee Bills of 2008 defined the term, after being counted out before the season even began, and every step of the way through a roller coaster season and playoff run. Everyone despairing over the loss to South Jefferson in the Greater Watertown Semi-final; If anyone had given up on our BILLS, then they have no idea what this team is made of... These players came together to beat the Watertown Giants in commanding fashion winning in all three aspects the game offence, defense and special teams to claim the 2008 SUGAR BOWL 6-37. Then advancing to the EMPIRE CLASSIC and defeating the Oswego BUCS (CNY) in an emotional come from behind victory 14-19.
Coaches, players and parents have lived football and cheer for so long I know many of us will find it difficult to turn-off. I know I’m going to miss it more than anyone will know; this team, these players and the memories of this season consume my thoughts daily. It’s an honor to call myself your head coach. Good luck to all the athletes’ who also play other sports during the off-season. MORE memories and championships to come in 2009!
See you all next year, Coach Purdy
Your Pulaski Bills gave 10th Ward(Western NY) everything they had and more. However, came up short, final score was Bills 0 - 10thWARD 25
