Solid Team Play Shuts Down Twin Valley 7-0
Tonight the Vikings played their second of three meetings against Twin Valley, and as on opening night it was a blowout by the Vikings.
The scoring started just sixteen seconds into the first period when Josh Flamini scored on the first shift of the game. Mike Wolf scored just over one minute later to make the score 2-0 less than two minutes into the game.
The Vikings looked sharp tonight both on offense and defense. The first period saw the Vikings with a 16-3 shot advantage and a 4-0 lead. The second period was more of the same but Twin Valley played much better defensively so even though the Viking had 15 shots on net they only scored one goal. The second period ended with the Vikings up 5-0.
Again the third period was more of the same with the Vikings putting on all the pressure attempting 14 shots and scoring two goals, both by Zach Freidland.
The shutout was the first of the season for the Vikings and it was shared by both goaltenders. Dustin Jagiela played the first two periods and Brandon Hark finished up the game playing the third period.
After the game the coaches were all pleased with the way the team played, saying it was a good team effort. Coach Nielsen gave a special shoutout to the play of Brandan Buchan and Nick Fisher on the penalty kill and JV call-up Brady Himsworth. "I thought the team played their best all around game of the season. They moved the puck well and were unselfish. I think they are starting to come together as a team and going forward we hope to get even better with time".
The team is off for the Holiday and will play their next game against conference opponent Boyertown on Friday December 5th at 7:30 at Center Ice. Hope to see a huge crowd for the first Friday night home game of the season.

Make sure you get an envelope from the coaches or Mrs. Collins so you can pay the photographer.
