TRYOUT LETTER FOR PARENTS & PLAYERS:
Logo Contest
PVYA Soccer is holding a contest to design our new logo.
The logo should be mature and professional looking - something we can be proud of. It will be used for our entire organization from U6 - U16. We would like something that the younger groups can look up to, and that the older groups can be proud of.
The only requirements for the logo are reflecting Brunswick High School's identity, since PVYA Soccer is a feeder system into BHS, and soccer as a sport. The winner will receive a $50 American Express gift card and a free single player registration for the Fall 2008 PVYA Soccer season.
Submissions should be made to pvya.soccercommissioner@yahoo.com or mailed to PVYA Soccer P.O. Box 244 Jefferson, MD 21755 no later than June 30, 2008. The winner will be annouced on our website and in the Brunswick Citizen by July 31, 2008.

The Rapids are the winners of the $50 gift certificate. Congratulations Rapids!
Goalpost Safety Focus
PVYA takes a Zero-Tolerance approach to practicing & playing with unsecured goalposts and asks parents and coaches to ensure goalposts are secured at all times. Coaches are not permitted to practice on fields with unsecured goalposts.
If coaches find that an opposing team has an unsecured goalpost please contact the AC, Director of Fields, or Commissioner to report your findings.
Too many serious injuries and fatalities have occurred in recent years as a result of unsafe or incorrect use of goalposts. . Under no circumstances should children or adults be allowed to climb on, swing or play with the structure of the goalposts.
PVYA Positive Parenting Initiative
In support of this growing commitment to excellence in youth sports, PVYA Parents are required to read through the Responsible Sports Parent Guide and then take the Responsible Sports Parent quiz. Once completed, return the printable certificate to your Head Coach. The first three teams to reach 100% compliance on this initiative will receive a $50 certificate to Sports Authority to be used for additional equipment for the team.
Thank you for being a Responsible Sports Parent!
