Interested in Joining the RRABL?

If you or someone you know is interested in joining the Red River Adult Baseball League in either the *18+ Division or the 30+ Division, just take one of the following steps.

1) If you already know you want to play for sure, simply click on the "Summer Registration" link at the right side of the home page. There you can fill out the registration form and it will be sent directly to the league. (Be sure to click "SUBMIT" on both the Registration page and the Summary page). Payment of the league fee is NOT required at the time of registration. If you are a new player without a team, you will be contacted quickly.

2) If you have questions about the league before you sign up, click on the "Interested Player Form" at the top right portion of the home page. This does not sign you up, instead it sends your contact information to the league and someone will contact you to answer your questions. (Be sure to click "SUBMIT" on both the Registration page and the Summary page).

The season for both age divisions begins in late April. The 18+ Division plays 14 regular season games and the 30+ Division plays a 12-game regular season schedule. 2024 league fee amounts have not been finalized yet. A draft workout for new players is held in March each year. Details on this season's draft workout date will be released once finalized. Anyone wishing to join after March 16th will be added to the waiting list and notified when/if a roster spot opens.

Our league has grown so much since it began in 1993. With your help, we can continue to grow in providing enjoyable adult baseball to the Ark-La-Tex area.

*18+ Division is intended for players who have finished high school level baseball but do not intend to play baseball in college or have already finished their college career completely. This is not a collegiate summer league and those intending to play ball in college, at any level, should not register for the RRABL. Professional players must be three years removed from the date of their last game before joining the RRABL. You must be a minimum of 21 years of age to serve as coach/manager of a team in the RRABL.

Lake Monsters Hold on to Secure First-Ever RRABL Championship

SHREVEPORT, La. – The D’Arbonne Lake Monsters jumped out to a commanding lead early and then held on late to win 14-13 over the Minden Redbirds in the 2023 Red River Adult Baseball League 30+ Division Championship. The title is the first for the     Lake Monsters franchise since joining the RRABL as the Red Sox in 2013.

The third-seeded Lake Monsters defeated the second-seeded Shreveport Storm by one run to advance to the final and seemed on a mission to not play another close game in the championship. The D’Arbonne hitters came out hot against the top-seeded Redbirds, lacing eight first-inning hits (7 singles and a triple) to post a 9-0 score after one half inning of play.

Minden, looking for its fourth consecutive RRABL Series crown and being the regular season champs, was not going to roll over with plenty of time left to chip away. They scored two in the bottom of the first and then added six more in the second inning. With two outs and nobody on base, the Redbirds followed a hit batter with four hits, including doubles by Austin Shepherd and George Stricker, to pull within three at 11-8.

Relief pitchers Luke Squyres for the Lake Monsters and Daniel Stoll of the Redbirds were both forced into action early, but the duo calmed the scoring surge and runs were at a premium the rest of the way. Minden crept within two at 11-9, but D’Arbonne managed to push two runs across in the fourth inning on hits by Stuart Miller, Squyres, and Brian Warren. Warren would finish with a 3-for-4 night at the dish. The Lake Monsters would not score the rest of the way.

Trailing 14-9, the Redbirds posted a single run in the fifth and seventh innings and sought to overcome a three-run deficit in their final at-bat. Three straight hits by Aaron Lowe, Thomas McManis and Anthony Young got things rolling and after an RBI ground out, a fly out and a walk, Minden was down one run with two outs, the tying run on second, and the winning run on first base.

Squyres was running on empty having thrown seven innings of relief and he was facing Shepherd who had good at-bats all game. With the game in the balance, Squyres came up big as he snared a come-back line drive to end the rally. It was a thrilling end to a very hard-fought contest.

In addition to his three hits, Warren led the way, along with James Bennett, with three RBI for the Lake Monsters. Two of those for Bennett came on a second-inning home run. Ten of the D’Arbonne 11 batters registered a hit with Cedric Magee and Miller notching two hits apiece. Miller also scored three runs.

Zach Christ went 4-for-4 with three RBI out of the lead-off spot to pace the Redbirds on offense. Lowe and Brent Rawls each had two hits and Chris Fort added three RBI for Minden.

After the game, the Lake Monsters selected Co-MVPs as Miller was given the honor for his performance over the entire season and Squyres was awarded the accolade for his pitching effort in the title game.

Rangers Earn Back-to-Back-to-Back Titles with Championship Win Over Firedogs

SHREVEPORT, La. – The Elysian Fields Rangers rode two exceptional pitching performances to cruise through two playoff rounds and secure their 11th Red River Adult Baseball League 18+ Division Championship in the last 16 seasons. Brandon Goswick    tossed a complete game for a 7-1 victory over the Shreveport Firedogs in the final, while Collin Eatman’s complete game 12-1 triumph in the semi-final secured the Rangers ticket to the 2023 championship.

The top-seeded Rangers advanced after defeating the #4 seed Rough Ryders when the 10-run rule limit was enforced to end the contest after seven innings. Eatman pitched all seven frames allowing just one run on three hits and eight strikeouts. The second-seeded Firedogs were propelled into the championship after rallying to best the #3 Giants, 6-5.

Elysian Fields got on the board first in the second inning when consecutive singles by Taylor Wyatt, Shane Goswick and Brett Roberts plated the first run. Moments later, Dusty Sebren singled in Roberts to give the Rangers a 2-0 lead. Wyatt pushed another run across in the third inning with a two-out hit.

The Rangers broke the game open in the fifth inning with a four-run outburst that started with two outs and no runners on base. David Pratt kicked off the barrage with a single, the first of five consecutive hitters to reach base. Dustin Russell followed with a double, Damion Mcglothin singled, Wyatt walked and Shane Goswick belted a double in the gap to strike the final blow. The 7-0 advantage would prove plenty for Brandon Goswick on the hill as he allowed only a single run in the ninth inning. He finished with eight punchouts while allowing seven hits.

Pratt, Russell, Wyatt, Shane Goswick, Roberts, and Sebren all tallied two hits in the victory for Elysian Fields. The Firedogs received multi-hit performances from Grayson Mims, Adam Armstrong, and Matthew Buckner. Armstrong’s triple in the ninth drove in Shreveport’s lone run.

The coaching staff of the Rangers selected Collin Eatman as the MVP of the season. The third-year youngster came on strong this year, improving his hitting, fielding and pitching. On the mound, Eatman went 3-0 in three games started, struck out 16 in 19 total innings and finished with an impressive 0.47 ERA.

Waiting List: Play for Free While You Wait!

All 2023 coaches are reporting full rosters at this time, but that doesn't mean new players can't play. If you are interested in playing in either the 18+ or 30+ divisions for the current season, please fill out the Summer Registration form and join the Waiting List. When a roster spot opens, which isn't uncommon, coaches will take players from the Waiting List to fill those spots. You could be officially added to a team anytime until after the midpoint of the season. If you are added, you will pay a pro-rated fee based on the amount of games left in the season when you join. However, you may still get to play even if a permanent spot does not open this season.

The RRABL consists of adults who have plenty of responsibilities outside of our baseball league. As a result, there may be weekends when a team has trouble fielding a full roster. When this occurs, the league will contact players from the Waiting List to fill in for the game. Not only does this help the team, but it allows the player on the Waiting List to play and experience the RRABL, as well as build relationships with players and coaches that may aid in earning a roster spot long term. There is no cost to play as a substitute player. If you join a team permenantly at any point, then you will pay the pro-rated league fee at that time.

Register today and a league representative will contact you and discuss the Waiting List with you.

*Substitute players are subject to the borrowed player rules that state which position they must play and where they must bat in the order.

League Rules Available on RedRiverBaseball.com

If you are looking for some light league-related reading to help you get your fill of baseball, check out the "League Rules" tab. The RRABL rules are available on our website, located on the menu at the top of the page. Click on "Pages" and then "League Rules."

If you haven't already, I encourage all players and coaches to read fully the 12-page rule book in order to be more familiar with the rules in specific situations as they arise on the playing field.

Website Tip: Finding League Stat Leaders

In getting familiar with our website, I am sure that some of our newer league members have not been able to find everything they are looking for. With that in mind, from time to time, I will post tips for commonly used features that may take an extra step or two to find until everyone has a good grasp on navigating RedRiverBaseball.com.

This week's tip is on how to find stats in regards to the league leaders for both individual and team categories. Just follow the simple steps below:

1. Click on the "Results" link from the menu bar at the top of any page throughout the site. Then click on "Standings" in the drop down menu. This will take you to a page that shows the current league standings.

2. Once on the league standings page, go to the drop down box at the top of the page that is denoted by the word "Category." Click on the drop down box and then choose the league stat leaders category you wish to view. That's all there is to it.

If you wish to view your team's individual stats only, click on the "Teams/Rosters" link from the menu bar at the top of the page and then choose your team's name in the drop down box.
