Welcome to the Home of Dunfermline Reign Basketball
Welcome to the official web-site of Dunfermline Reign Basketball Club. The Reign is the home of Fife's only National & Local League basketball team. We aim to provide quality basketball development for youths and adults in Dunfermline and the surrounding area. We have been an affiliated member of basketballscotland since 1986 and have won trophies at national and local level on a consistent basis over the past 20 years.
This site has been developed to keep club members, alumni and visitors up to date with what is going on at the Reign.
The Reign are currently embarking on the 2008-09 season in which we will be running teams at Senior, Under 18, Under 16 and Under 14 Men's level. If you are interested in getting active then you will find contact and training details in the 'REIGN INFO' section of this site.

Senior Men Awards Night 2008!
On Saturday 30th May Dunfermline Reign's Senior players gathered for their innaugural Awards Night. Sixteen senior players enjoyed a meal at Stela Restaurant before the presentation of the awards. The awards up for grabs were as follows:
'Reignman' Award - For recognition of outstanding contribution to the club either on or off the court.
'MIP' Award - For the most imporved player during the season.
'MVP' Award - For the most valuable player during the season.
The process for crowning the winners was a simple one. Each player that was involved in senior men games this season was allowed to cast one vote in each catagory. Players were not able to vote for themselves. The result is that the winners in each catagory was decided by their teammates.
It was not surprising that the votes in all catagories were extremely close. Our team this past season has produced some very balanced scorers, some excellent defenders and a number of players that have raised their game to new levels. In two of the three catagories the prize was won by only a single vote.
Thanks go out to all those that wore the Reign uniform during the season nearly past. It has been a strong year that has seen the Reign reach two finals and a semi final - excellent effort with breathing space for improvement next year!
However, in basketball there can only be one winner and for 2007-08 they are as follows;
'Reignman' Award - Ross Dawkins
'MIP' Award - Sean Maudsley
'MVP' Award - Julian White
The proud winners are pictured above. Each of the three winners received two trophies - a large award that they will keep for a year before passing on to next years winner, and a small trophy which is theirs to keep forever to commemorate their success.
Although the Reign focus on the team rather that the individual the awards are a chance for the players to recognise consistent hard work. The awards will now be a feature of the Reign's annual calendar and will hopefully spur our players on to greater things.
