2008 League Champions!
*Congrats to Garett Baron and the Mrs. on their newborn son!*
The Brewers win the league championship by beating the Angels in a three game series! The Brew Crew battled the Angels in two games on Sunday. The Angels took game one by a score of 4-1 after the Brewers fell apart defensively. The Brewers bats came alive in Game 2 as the Brew Crew won by a score of 7-1. Game three was held Tuesday night and the Brewers over came several costly errors, giving up five unearned runs, to post a comeback win 7-6 in eight innings.
Nick "MVP" Davey threw all 14 innings on Sunday and another 4 innings on Tuesday night for a total of 18 dominate innings in 3 days! Nick gave up 7 runs, ONE earned over the 18 innings. Andy "save me for when it counts" Lobb came off the DL to start game three and pitched four solid innings giving up 3 runs, 1 earned.
Offensively in Game 3, the Brew Crew had a balanced attack, scoring 7 runs by 6 different players. The Brewers were led by Vince "mouth" Forino. Vince went 4-5 with a crucial stolen base in the bottom of the 8th which led to the game winning run when Garett Baron singled in Forino to win it!
Offensively throughout the five playoff games, the Brewers all hit consistently across the lineup. Brew Crew stand-outs for the five games were; Tim Buell hit .375, 6-16, with 4 walks (.500 OBP), Vince Forino hit .385, 5-13 with 3 hbp and 3 walks (.589 OBP), Joe Zelezniak hit .385, 5-13 with 3 walks (.500 OBP) and Lalo Reyes hit .353, 6-17 with a walk (.389 OBP).

Congratulations also has to go out to the Brew Crew team members that made the All-Star team: Chris Allard, Steve Bach, Tim Buell, Nick Davey, Vince Forino and Mike Kelly will be representing the Brew Crew at the All-Star game! Congrats on a great season guys! Coach Hamilton will be managing the Brewers divisional All Star team. The All Star game will be held at Clifton Commons on Wednesday October 15th at 7:00 pm.
