SF Seals Face the Marin Soccer League All Stars in Exhibition Match

The best of the Marin Soccer League will battle the SF Seals July 12. The Marin League will host the game at Redwood High School in Larkspur this Wednesday evening starting at 6:30pm.

The Marin Soccer League offers the highest level of men’s amateur competition in the Marin County. The league boasts former professional players, collegiate players, and even former national team players.
 
The current Seals squad consists of primarily of Division 1 college players aspiring to play professionally. This is the same Seals organization that gained prominence in the 1997 by defeating two Major League Soccer teams in route to an appearance in the US National Open Cup semi-finals. After beating the then San Jose Clash in a dramatic come from behind 2-1 victory in the last 15 minutes of the game, the USA Today crowned the Seals “Team of the Year”.
John Brooks, Head Soccer Coach for Dominican University, was tabbed by the Marin League to select the players and prepare them for the match with the Seals. 

Marin FC Soccer Club, event organizers, is asking for a $5.00 donation with proceeds to benefit the student athlete scholarship fund.
