    'The Saints'

    Sicklesmere United F.C Under 18's
    Season 2006-2007

Sicklesmere United F.C - Under 18's play their football in the highly competitive Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football league - Division 1.

This will be their last season in Youth football, hopefully many players will progress into a high standard of local football, some have already signed, played for Walsham le Willows who play in the Ridgeons League Under 18's Youth League and one or two have played for the Reserves, one lad is playing for Diss Town Under 18's Youth League side and Reserves.

The team comprises players from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk and the surrounding area. The core of the team has been together since the age of nine.

The 'Saints' capped a fine 2003/04 season by winning the Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League - League Cup Final against Ipswich Warriors 1-0 at Gainsborough Sports Centre. This was the team’s first winner’s trophy. Season 2004/05 the 'Saints' finished 3rd in the league under Jon Parker and Andy Atkins. With the Management team switching roles for Season 2005/2006 Andy Atkins now Manager and Jon Parker Ast Manager the club finished 3rd yet again after being in pole position for most of the season, but just falling at the final fence at the end of the season.

We look forward to the forthcoming 2006/2007 season with our sights very much set on more success 'doing it the right way' and progressing the players to the highest standard they can achieve in the game.
