D'backs allow all Yanks runs to score with 2 out and none on
July 27, 2008
In a quick-paced and yet another frustrating game, the Yankees inexplicably scored all 6 runs in 4 different innings AFTER there were 2 outs and no runners on base. Perhaps the D'backs lost focus with two outs, although a couple of errors did account for 3 unearned runs. Steve Chase gave up 3 earned runs over 6 2/3 IP. Tanner Lacki finished the double-header going 6-for-7 with 2 doubles and a triple)
D'back notables: T. Lacki (3-for-3, 2B, 3B, 2 R), M. Krause (1-for-2, 2B, 2 RBI)

D'backs drop a heartbreaker to Yankees
July 27, 2008
The D'backs fought back from 4-0 and 8-3 deficits to tie the game at 8, but a mental lapse in the 8th allowed the eventual winning run to score for the Yankees. The D'backs' bats never seemed to fully awaken in this game, despite numerous scoring chances.
D'backs notables: T. Lacki (3-for-4, 2B, RBI, R), J. Nguyen (2-for-2, RBI, R, 2 SB), E. Baltazar (2-for-3, 2B)

D'backs bats quiet in lopsided loss to Braves
July 20, 2008
The D'backs were held to 1 run on 3 hits by the Braves' starter as they dropped their 6th game in 7 and finish the first half at 3-7 after a 2-0 start. Tip of the hat to J. Edmonds of the Braves who had a dominating start, as he struck out 12 and did not walk a single hitter.

D'backs play clean game, drop it late to the White Sox
July 13, 2008
The Diamondbacks' (3-6) defense settled down to commit only 1 error this game, but the Sox scored 5 runs in the 7th to erase a 1 run deficit and steal the game 10-6. Starter Tim Burnett pitched well until the Sox put a string of hits together late. The D'backs have now lost 3 in a row and 6 out of 7.
Offensively, 5 of the 10 hits came from the Mannys. Hernandez led the attack, going 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI. The other Manny (Rivas) had 2 hits. Brett Shelton reached base safely 3 out of 4 times, has reached base safely in all 8 games he has played, and increased his team-leading OBP to .629. Hernandez's 2 RBI ties him with Tanner Lacki for the team lead with 9.

Diamondbacks kick the ball around in loss to Braves
June 29, 2008
The Diamondbacks (3-5) committed a season-high 9 errors against the Braves, following an 8 error performance the week before, putting undue pressure on starter Tim Burnett. Despite being down 12-4 at one point, the D'backs pulled the game to 12-8 in the seventh, although it would have been a one run game if the Braves' centerfielder didn't make a spectacular diving catch for the third out with the bases loaded. P.Lacki 3 for 4, 2 rbi's, 1 run, T.Lacki 1 for 2 opposite field home run in the first 2 rbi's, 1 run with 2 intentional base on balls. M.Rivas 2 for 3 2 rbi's 1 run.

Diamondbacks piss one away !
June 22, 2008
With numerous defensive and base running errors the Dbacks put pitcher Tim Burnett's back against the wall. Burnett pitched well enough not to be hung with a loss. The first inning started off with a bang lead off batter Manny (Mad Dog) Hernandez led off with a walk, Rogers struck out and Tanner Lacki took a 2 and 1 fast ball out of the park for his first Home run of the year! In the third inning Hernandez and Rogers went back to back doubles for the 3rd run of the game. Leading 3 to 0 in the top of the forth the Dbacks started playing fetch the stick like a golden retriever off its leash with the Blue Jays scoring 7 runs, 5 unearned. The Blue Jays added 5 more in the 5th with only 2 of them earned. Tanner Lacki came in to relieve Burnett with one out in the 5th. Lacki went on to put up 0's for the team 6th-9th. The Dbacks added 1 run in the 6th and 1 in the ninth. Hernandez 1 for 2 double 2 base on balls, 3 runs and made a spectacular circus catch at second base ranging deep into right field. D'backs top the Cards 8-7 with 2 in the bottom of the 9th
June 8, 2008
In the second game of a split double header for the D'backs (3-3, 1-3 division), the Cards jumped out to a quick 3-0 1st inning lead before Tanner Lacki relieved Mike Rodgers. Tanner allowed only 3 ER over 9 IP, striking out 6 and going 3-for-5.
The D'backs slowly chipped away at the lead, but trailed 7-6 in the bottom of the 9th. A single by Alfonso Moran started a 9th inning rally. Moran later suffered a season-ending ankle injury at a play at the plate. The game was almost called, but proceeded after deliberation.
After the game was tied, Manual Rivas stepped up with a game-winning bases-loaded 2-out, 2-strike single to win the game for the D-backs.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Alfonso and his family for a speedy recovery.
C. King (3-for-5, 2 Runs), M. Hernandez (2-for-4, 3 Runs, RBI), B. Ortega (2-for-5, 2 RBIs), B. Shelton (3-for-4, Run, SB). B. Shelton reached base safely 8-out-of-9 plate appearances for the day, raising his team-leading OBP to .696.
