Games Cancelled for May 11.
Have a great Mother's Day
Due to poor field conditions and the high winds for today we are cancelling today's games..
Week 6 Recap
Another great day of kickball was had by all on May 4. The weather is now starting to cooperate.
No real surprises this week as every team finished up their division play and began non-division play.
Some great final division matchups took place:
1. Awesome (8-2), 2nd place in the Orange Division, defeated 3rd place Redneck Ninjas (7-2-1), 6-2.
2. Similarly, Purple People Eaters (9-1), tied for 2nd place in the Yellow Division, defeated the other 2nd place team, Team Zedonk, 15-3.
3. And finally, Kick 'em Where it Counts and The Toe Jamz, long-time kickball adversaries, battled it out for 9th place in the Orange Division. With two wins on Sunday, Kick 'em Where it Counts securely rests in 8th place.
Who's Hot
1. The three undefeated teams left in the league
Who's Not
1. Flamingo Bowl: Forfeited both games on Sunday
Teams to Watch
1. Ghostrunners: Continue their winning ways, winning their sixth straight game on Sunday.
2. Awesome: Have gone 7-1 in their last eight games and two of their three losses were to undefeated Tower Pub and 10-2 Team Zedonk.
Week 5 Recap
A fairly quite week of kickball was played on April 27, though an undeafeated team did lose for the first time.
Shot to the Balls struggled against A Team Named 'Sue' but managed to win 6-5 to move to 9-0, but then lost their second game against The Flying Hellfish 2-4 for their first loss of the season.
Who's Hot
1. Ghostrunners: A .500 team after Week 2 with a record of 2-2, the Ghostrunners beat Gotham, 10-6, and Nemesis, 4-2, both very competitive teams. The Ghostrunners have gone 5-1 since Week 2.
Who's Not
1. W.E.A.K.: Forfeited both games on Sunday, and then complained about being in the "Who's Not" category.
Teams to Watch
1. Shot to the Balls: Despite their first loss of the season, they are still a team that should go far in the tournament. They still sit atop the Blue Division at 9-1.
2. Liquid Courage: They are always competitive but this season they are definitely flying under the radar at 8-2. They are winning quietly. Don't underestimate them.
Week 4 Recap
Another interesting week of kickball was played on April 20. One winless team won their first game and three undeafeated teams lost for the first time.
Congratulations to the River Des Peres Yacht Club for winning their first game of the season.
Some great matchups took place between several undefeated teams:
1. Shot to the Balls (6-0) defeated Thunder Thighs (6-0) 6-3. Shot to the Balls now has sole custody of first place in the Blue Division.
2. The Long Balls beat two undefeated teams back-to-back. First they defeated Team Zedonk! (6-0) 7-1 and then the Purple People Eaters (7-0) 6-4. The Long Balls now have the inside track to the Yellow Division title.
Who's Hot
1. The Long Balls: Defeated two undefeated teams.
Who's Not
1. Playground Kings: Forfeited both games on Sunday
2. The Storm: An undefeated team at 6-0 and who has scored 78 runs, beat up on a team that has scored 14 points all season, 37-0.
Teams to Watch
1. Kick 'em Where it Counts: Won both games on Sunday against winning teams, 7-0 and 16-4. Those two wins tripled their season win total from one to three.
Season Extended
Below is the schedule for the rest of the season.
Sunday April 20 - Week 2 schedule games
Sunday April 27 - Week 4 scheduled games
Sunday May 4 - Week 6 scheduled games
Sunday May 11 (Mother's Day) - Week 7 scheduled games
Saturday May 17 - Week 8 scheduled games
Sat./Sun. May 24-25 - NO GAMES (Memorial Weekend)
Sat./Sun. May 31-June 1 - SKA TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Sat./Sun. June 7-8 - Tournament Make-up Dates
We realize that the above schedule may not be ideal for everyone but we have to work with what we have, which includes fields already reserved on certain days and/or times and not enough umpires available.
We're sorry but we cannot make up all the games we've lost due to the weather. We have already paid for the fields and do not get that money back, even if it rains. So we have had to spend extra funds to secure fields and umps for dates that weren't on the schedule.
