    Steel Program forming
January 8, 2007 The Central Jersey Steel are proud to announce two new teams to their program. We have formed a 10/under and 9/under.

    Real Steel
July 29, 2006 After starting the season at 8-13, the Steel finally merged and the chemistry of the team finally showed. After many practices and games the Steel finish off their last 38 games of the summer at 27-11. With a great run starting with the Marlborlo Memorial Day Tournament, into the Jersey Shore Beach Blast then the Fairhaven Summer Heat Tournament, the Steel built up enought momentum to eventually take them into their own Summer Slamfest where they went undefeated on their way to winning the Championship. After a few more exhibition games, the Steel traveled North to Cooperstown Dreamspark where they kept on rolling. Winning 6 out of 7 in pool play against teams from Carolina, Wisconsin, Florida, Indiana, Ohio and New York. Then, they lost a tough game against a South Florida team in the playoffs. Still, the boys knew that they accomplished what nobody thought they could. Finishing the season at 35-24 is a testament to all their hard work and dedication. I know I speak for all the coaches when I say that it has been a great pleasure and honor to coach: OZ,C.,B.K.,A.B.,HUNT,BOX,D.C.,T.D.,RYAN,MATT AND SPERTS. We are going to continue playing in August and maybe 10 games in the fall to get the boys ready for 60/90. See you soon and keep on working hard...........it really pays off. Gino

    A's and Hurricanes Merge
January 1, 2006 - 12:05 AM After a few years of playing against each other in various Tournaments from New Jersey to Delaware, Gino Palummo of the Staten Island Athletics and Mike Russo of the North Howell Hurricanes have decided to put their teams together for the Spring of 2006. Dan Cottrell and Scott Allmers will also be coaching. The players all live in the same neighborhood of Howell, N.J. and they all have the same love for the game of baseball. By doing this merger we have put together some of Howell's finest athletes and we are giving the boys a great opportunity at being succesfull on the baseball field. These boys are a special group. We have 10 kids that could play any position on the field and the best part is they will play anywhere without a problem. We are looking forward to a great season with the highlight being a trip to Cooperstown the week of July 22nd. Please keep checking the website for additional information and upgrades.
