Subject: Geick Park Baseball Field

Good Morning Gentlemen;

As we are all aware Geick Park baseball filed has been outfitted with a new grass turf field. As such in association with the new field some new rules will be instilled. We need to make sure these rules are followed by our teams and any outside teams you me be inviting to play against you.

Firstly I’d like to make sure everyone is aware of the layout, there is no longer a dirt infield; the field has been outfitted with 4 cut out boxes in the grass turf.  In that vein we have bought weighted tarps to cover these cuts outs, which will greatly reduce the number of rain outs. However as they are about 100 – 150 lbs each; if at the end of the game rain is eminent for later that day/evening or the imitate future, in order to save the next game from being cancelled, your team/league will be required to help our supervisor lay them out or pick them up prior to the start of your game.

Also and this is very important at no time will anyone ever rake, broom add speedy dry, infield mix or anything else to the boxes. These boxes are not to be touched in any sort of maintenance effort ever!!!

In addition to this the following will not be permitted:

NO METAL SPIKES

NO GUM CHEWING

NO TOBACCO PRODUCTS

A lot of time and effort has been put into making this one of the premier baseball fields in the state of New Jersey. All for the residents of Old Bridge’s playing pleasure, we would appreciate and insist on your cooperation with this upkeep of our new field.

The anticipated opening day is Saturday June 17, 2006, all application will be processed this week and you will be receiving your permits.

Have a happy and safe season,

Lisa Cooney,
