18U Triple Play HornetsThe Triple The Triple Play Hornets play approximately 65 games in a summer season, which includes over 25 home games, local and regional tournaments and post season World Series play. The Hornets won its 10th World Series in 2009.
The Hornets have won 10 World Series Championships since participating in World Series play in 1990. Triple Play has won the U.S.A.B.A. title six times, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1998, 1999 and 2002. They also won the U.S.A.B.F. Wood Bat World Series in 2003, 2006 and 2007, and claimed its first West Coast Summer Series Co-Championship in 2009. Founder Jerry Hardin, former scout of the Cincinnati Reds, was named U.S.A.B.A. Coach of the Year in 1995. In 1999, the Triple Play Hornets became the most victorious team in U.S.A.B.A. history and now has over 115 wins in World Series play and is 9-1-1 in World Series Championship games.
Besides all of the accomplishments on the field, Triple Play Baseball Club is most proud of what the athletes have done off the field. Almost all Hornet alumni have gone on to college with scholarship money and used the skills developed with Triple Play to further their education and baseball. This program has a very solid reputation for college placement and the networking continues to grow every year (see Why Play for TPBC page).
