Coach, Brian Rios
Brian is a California native and is entering his 16th year of professional baseball with the Calgary Vipers as a player/coach. He spent 7yrs w/ the Detroit Tigers and 1 with the Baltimore Orioles. Brian reached the AAA level four times. He has also played in Mexico, Columbia, and the Dominican Republic. Brian was most recently a player/coach the last two years w/ the Victoria Seals as well as an All Star in the Golden League. Brian has 3 Gold Glove awards, was a AAA All Star, and led the entire Detroit Tigers organization in hitting in 2001 w/a .325 avg. Brian has been around Hall-of-Fame players and coaches who have showed him the way and now he wants to teach you. Brian attended Riverside Junior College, University of Oklahoma and Oral Roberts University. Brian was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 18th rd in 1996. He was also drafted twice as a pitcher by the Detroit Tigers in '93' -'94'.
