The 2006-2007 Hockey Season is now over...The Southwest Zone Oil King Predators had great year. They had a tremendous finish to the season claiming the Edmonton City Championship, the Provincial BB Title, and the Pat Laughton Cup Championship in the Crowchild Challenge. Their overall record was 42-8-0 (an 0.840 win percentage with no ties!), they were shutout only once all year and they strung together win streaks of 13 and 18 games - all great accomplishments but most importantly they were ton of fun to watch ! ! !
Thanks to everyone who made the 2006-7 season such a success...

SWZ617 takes Pat Laughton Cup The SWZ Oil Kings defeated the SWAT Spitfires 5-1 Sunday afternoon, winning the CrowChild Challenge B Final (Pat Laughton Cup) to conclude the 2006-2007 season.
The Oil Kings went 3-1-0 in the round robin portion of the event, missing by a hair a spot in the "A" playoff pool. They did clinch the 5th out of 15 team ranking despite a thin and ever-changing roster, drawing a Pat Laughton semi-final game versus the hard-nosed Drayton Valley Rangers Sunday morning. Playing a patient game, SWZ were able to solve the Rangers in the third period and advance to the B Final with a 6-2 victory.
Their opponent in the last game of the year would turn out to be their opponent in the first game of the year: Southwest rival SWAT. After trading goals early in the game, the Oil Kings would go on to score 4 unanswered markers and skate to a 5-1 championship win.
