Thunder Srs. Have Year End Party.
Ok, so the season is officially over now that the Tecumseh Thunder Sr. team has had their team party, and the real winners were the alcohol makers of America whose stocks rose 150 dollars a share on the TSE the next day.
I will talk about some of the night's events, but will use made up names to protect the privacy of the guilty. I can make up the stories as I go along and no on would know, thinking that, did I really do that or say that. I don't remember.
I arrived shortly before five, and was greated at the front gate by Babe Ruth. Come to think about it the gates were kind of pearly. I grabbed a seat at the snack table and talked briefly with Al Kaline, and heard funny memories from baseball past from Willie, Mickey and the Duke.
Soon it was time to eat, and we all raced down to the food table set up in the banquet room and feasted on sausages, chicken, potatoes, lasagne, and salads, as prepared by Rachael Ray and her mom.
Soon it was time for the Jello shot olympics as contestants tried to see if they could complete a pass across the length of the back yard. The winner in this event was Arnold Schwartzenager who was also the loser.
Soon it was time to visit the hot tub area where there were about ten people in a hot tub made for eight. After it thinned out a little, Dr. Phil continued to question a single Marilynn Monroe on her sexual preferences and other similar inquirees, as Danny DiVito, Joe Pescci, and Jason Alexander waited with tongues hanging out, for her responses.
Soon it was time for some to leave and go to other parties or events.
There was one incident near the end of the night when Rosie O'Donnell pushed Donald Trump into the pool. The weight of his wallet nearly proved fatal, but there was no need to call a paramedic.
The police showed up to let us know that we were not drinking enough or making enough noise, so we had to turn it up a bit.
After just about everyone left, Brian Roberts and Tom Brady showed up minus swim suits, for a quick dip. Sorry you missed it girls. Then the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders showed up in their bikinis and turned in quite a show. No wait, that last part did not happen until I got home and was sleeping.
Here is the final linescore on the night. The Thunder had THE RUNS (the next day) with several hits (the lasagne, potatoes, good friends, great hosts, and interesting conversation) and we made no errors. The visitors had... oh crap, let me check with the Detroit Metro Tigers, and see if I can read their scorebook.
Best of luck to Matt Stezycki and Andrew Masojc (their real names) for being added to the Windsor Stars roster for the upcoming National championships in Brandon, Manitoba this coming week.
To everyone else, have a great offseason and I already miss doing the games.

    White Rappers
Special thanks to Lance Romance and Hy-mee Kellispo of the White Rappers for their rendition of....whatever that was, at the team party last Saturday. Just send a self addressed envelope to Dan The Man enterprizes with a cheque for $100 for your very own copy of....whatever that was.

    Thanks Guys.
I felt kind of bad being the only one at the party to get a gift for my time during the year when the players and coaches were the ones that did all the work. I consider myself overpaid for something that I would love to do every day of the week. I would be happy to take the thousand dollar cheque Marty gave me and take you all to Gwomans Chinese restaurant where they often say "I tot you say flies wit yur burgher".
I would like to thank all the players and wives or girl friends who took the time to say a few words to me during the year. I enjoyed being a small part of the successes and failures of the Tecumseh Thunder and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
For those that don't know what the team gave me in the envelope, it was a seventy-five dollar gift certificate for La Cucina Ristorante in Tecumseh, which is far better than the prizes I have given out this year (Hey! I'm on a budget here). Sounds like I might have to buy a new suit.
Marty, you can get off the floor now, it was not a cheque for a thousand dollars.

Thunder Eliminated in Senior Elimination Tournament.
After what was a promising start with a victoy over Markham on Friday night, the Tecumseh Thunder saw their season come to a crashing halt as they lost to the Windsor Stars 1-0 and then to Ilderton 4-2 on Saturday. Thanks to the coaches and players for making me feel a part of the team, and I am already looking forward to next year.

Kyle Trudell Pitches Thunder to 4-2 Win Over Markham in First Game of Ontario Eliminations.
The Tecumseh Thunder scored four in the top of the first and then held on for a 4-2 win at Lacasse Park in Tecumseh in the opening game of the 2008 Ontario Senior Elimination Tournament. Steele Lewis banged out three singles in the game, Jason Marentette singled, doubled and walked, and Ryan Pierce doubled in two runs.
Kyle Trudell got thru a rough first inning and then allowed only one more runner (a third inning home run) thru six innings before Andrew Masojc came on in the seventh to get the save while striking out the side.
