    2009 Power Rankings (Tony)
Power Rankings for the 2009 season (Tony):

    1. Detroit Tigers: (10-5)
Defending Championship team on the runs for the third straight win. With Keith not playing baseball during the summer, he is excited to start the season. Keith is the best pitcher in the AWL and one of the scariest hitters to face. Aj is solid hitter. With his speed, he hits to get on base and if he doesn’t hit he finds other ways to get on base. That’s very scary for a pitcher. Tony is a solid pitcher and has one of the lowest ERA in the game. He is going to hit the ball better this year than last season. Brendan and Sean are also excited to play and looking to hit the ball just like last year.

    2. San Diego Padres: (9-6)
Making the Championship game every year, this team is no doubt one of the best teams and will finish the season with one of the best records. The Padres have the fiercest hitting lineup in the AWL. Davis who had 15 homeruns will put up the same outstanding hitting stats, well as one of the best pitches. Cayden who had a remarkable season last year pitching but not as well hitting is a solid player. He won’t do as good pitching this year then last year but he will be hitting the ball a lot more. Pat is good hitter but lacks the effort and doesn’t come often. Ben who had an outstanding season last year gets on base and is very dedicated and always could be a threat when the game is on the line.

    3. Oakland A’s: (6-9)
The Oakland A’s have been lacking the number two pitcher to replace Jimbo and a big hitter for the last couple years but they were the only team that took advantage of the off-season drafting new blood, Jon. I don’t know what to expect with him but I am sure he will plug in some holes in those areas. Jimbo is one of the best pitchers in the game too holding the most k’s in his career. Tom is a solid hitter and is pitchers worst nightmare because he gets on base no matter what. Kyle is a good hitter but often strikes out. Norman is also new with the team but he will get hits once and a while but not that often. The thing that is holding this team back from the championship game is the arguments between Tom and Jimbo. It loses their team chemistry.

    4. Washington Nationals: (5-10)
Pitching wins championships and with Tyler as the only pitcher on the team. The lefty ace Greg was the other pitcher but is playing NCAA baseball so he is most likely not to pitch. So Tyler is left with no other choice then pitching Conor. Even though Conor is not a great pitcher he will get the job done on the other side of the game, hitting. He is a great hitter and will continue that through the 2009 season. Tyler gets on base someway somehow if it is walking or getting singles and with his speed he could stretch the singles into doubles. Greg is a power, house, lefty who hits the ball pretty good and will continue that in the upcoming season. Corey never shows up and nick is an ok hitter and will get some hits here and there.

    MVP – Keith
    CY YOUNG – Tony
    SILVER SLUGGER – Conor
    GOLD GLOVES – Davis, Jimbo
