The 12 U boys got off to a good start to the fall season, defeating Kearny on Tuesday 14-2 and defeating Elmwood Park 4-3 last night, at Secaucus Little League
Andrew Johnston pitched 3 solid innings; Nico Chairavallotti lead the way with 5RBI's going 2 for 3 with a double and a grand slam. Nico Sanchez drove in 3 runs, Adrian Pardo had 2 RBI's; while Jack O'Donnell, Mike Cunningham, Jack Attisano, and Ryan Wilde all had 1 RBI each. T.J. Wolfe was stellar behind the plate and Jack O'Donnell continues to impress at shortstop. Mike Cunningham came in to get the final 3 outs to help Bayonne their first victory.
vs Elwood Park
T.J. Wolf got things going with a lead off homer over the center field fence. Bayonne would score another run in the first with an RBI by Chris Valencia. Elmwood Park would answer with 3 in the bottom half; Valencia kept the game within reach when he fielded a come-backer for the first out, then Justin Hoffman made a stab at third to force the runner at the plate, then Valencia struck out the final batter; this lead to Bayonne's comeback. Jack O'Donnell lead off the inning with a monster shot over the left field fence. With 1 on and 2 out, Hoffman battled with a 7 pitch at bat to earn a walk, while Adrian Pardo drove in the go-ahead run. T.J. Wolf came in relief of Valencia and pitched a very impressive 2 scoreless innings; Andrew Johnston kept Elmwood Park runners out of scoring position with his stellar play behind the plate. Mike Cunningham continued to show his versatility by playing his 4th position in 2 days.
