Happy Birthday to my cells, happy birthday to my cells, happppy biiiiirrthdaaaay to myyy ceeelllss, happy birthday to my cells!
WOOOOHOOOO! I haven't posted in a while but I figured that you would all be happy knowing that I have been too busy just living/enjoying my life. I wanted to say "hello & happy spring" to everyone and send a BIG "2nd-birthday" HOLLAR to my self on the 1st anniversary of receiving my new cells. Definitely a celebration is in order for all of the HARD, HARD work I did throughout this loooonngg year. Also, I want to send a VERY LOUD & LOVING shout-out to my blood-brother & donor; whoever you are & where ever to you; to say "you're the best & I love you "bro". I made a wish and YOU made it come true. Hopefully, one day we can meet but until then...good friends are like angels, you don't have to see them to know they are there. Thank you for being my angel, for being amazing and to steal the words of a kinda wise man for "being the change that we all wish to see in the world" - Gandhi! Since, we are on the subject of AMAZING PEOPLE I would like to send a TON of LOVE & CREDIT to Dr. Grodman & the other doctors, the nurses, child-life and secretaries who ALWAYS make me a priority. With your support I always feel like I can climb the highest mountain.
In all truth, I have been enjoying life at home (limited though it may still be) but I have also been busy at clinic. Since December I have been dealing with some skin "issues". Which meant, more steroids, more doctors and more questions without true answers (is it a skin virus, eczema or GVHD-guest vs. host disease). Also, a little buggar from my summer came back to pay me a visit. You may remember him...a Mr. Epstein Barr (virus that is). Yes, most likey from the extra steroids and intentionally increased suppression to my immune system, a window of opportunity was let open for his return. He hasn't gotten out of control but something that they are monitoring closely (which means more clinic visits). So, even though I may have said that I was having too much fun to send a message to all of "my fans" I really was just too busy trying to find a happy balance between maintaining my health during this crazy first year post transplant and creating my new norm for living/enjoying my life. I hope that you all understand. With that being said I would like to share a secret with you. Well, it is not reeaally a secret (I just think that secret telling is cool) and this is definitely something COOL! I had the pleasure & good fortune of meeting some fabulous ladies, wish-granters actually, back in the fall and they are sending me & my family on my Make-A-Wish trip the Sunday after Easter. Not only did I bust out of the hospital back in June 2008 but I have managed to bust out of New England and am heading to the beautiful state of Florida where I WILL BE GOING TO DISNEY on April 20 for 7 days!!!!!!! Like the Disney commercials say "what will you be celebrating". Well, Mr. Disney, I will be celebrating the birthday of MY HEALTHY NEW CELLS...thanks for asking. Don't worry. I won't "forget" about you all this time and I will be sure to post tons of pictures of my fantasmic wish trip shortly after my return. Hey, if you were wondering, my wish was to go to Disney and attend the Jedi training camp where I will train to be the most elite Master Jedi that this world has ever known. Universe rejoice! The Dark-side beware!
My mom & dad would like to revisit something I said back at the beginning of this letter about "celebrating all of my hard work". They want everyone to be aware that a wonderfully huge celebration is in the works to commemorate the closure of one very unique year & honor one - no make that two - very unique people, myself & my blood brother, for some extraordinary work! As well as, a very special way to say "thank you" to all of you who have helped, listened, prayed & just shared this crazy journey with me. Mom & dad want to host a party for me & you. I will post an invite once a formal date/location has been set. Hope to see you all there. Oh, I think that I hear someone calling for THE PARTY MAN ---and that's CAM! I'll catch you all later. I hear my cells' song playing "you say iiit's your biirthday"!!

Proud of you, Cam,
