Blues Cruise to Victory Over Gloucester
Brookdale improved to 19-8 and 8-0 in conference with a 7-4 victory over Gloucester CC. Gloucester who now is in the same division as Brookdale suffered its second loss in conference and now trails the Blues by two games for the Region XIX season title.
Winning pitcher Lex Wolfe gave up only one earned run in the complete game victory. Brookdale scored 3 runs in the first inning on a rbi single by Paddy Matera and then was followed by a two run home run by Ed Gallante. The Jersey Blues added to their lead in the second inning when Paddy Matera hit a three run double to put the Blues out to a 6-0 lead.
Brookdale will be on the road Tuesday vs Sussex CC at Skylands Park in Sussex. The next home game for the Blues will be this upcoming Thursday vs Mercer CC and then home Saturday for a 12:00 DH vs Globe Institute.
