    JERSEY BLUES HEADED TO THIRD STRAIGHT WORLD SERIES
    The Jersey Blues (34-12) have a long road of history in Junior College baseball. Even with all the history this is the first time a Jersey Blues team has made it to the JUCO World Series three consecutive years.
    The team beat Camden CC for the Region XIX title by the score of 15-3 to earn the birth to Tyler, Texas. The Blues exploded the five home runs in the game. The tournament MVP was Paddy Matera who was 8-13 with 8 RBI’s, two doubles and a three run home run in the tournament final. In the past three seasons in Region XIX play the team has went 9-0 in Region XIX tournament play.
    The team will head to Tyler, Texas on Friday morning and will start play at 7pm on Saturday night. This is Brookdale's first season in JUCO DIII as they have participated in Grand Junction DI four times, Millington DII six times (back to back 2005/2006) and this year in Tyler for DIII. The Blues prepared for their World Series run by competing against division I and II schools during their season. Since returning home from their 14 game, seven day Florida trip the team has been impressive going 27-5. During the season thus far 26 MLB teams have sent scouts to look at the Jersey Blues players including the film crew from the MLB National Scouting Bureau. The players on the Jersey Blues benefit every year they attend the World Series opening doors for scholarship opportunities with colleges around the country and MLB scouts from out of the area. Three players from last years team have been given the opportunity to play for MLB organizations thus far and 5 others have moved on to top college programs in the Big East as well as 4 players receiving scholarships to play baseball in Florida.
