Milton Red Sox 9 Burlington Brants 7 last nite at Nelson Park
It looked for a bit like the tail-end Burlington Brants would earn their 3rd straight victory..in Coba baseball last nite at Nelson Park..
A 5-0 lead shelled ex-Brants chucker,Jeff Felker, but it wasn’t enough as they lost 9-7 to Milton..The Red Sox scored 4 runs ,just one earned, in the 8th inning off vet pitcher, Daniel Nauth, on one hit, a hit batter,3 walks and a costly error by c, Trevor Hall. + pitcher,Travers Thompson, coughed up 3 hits and 2 more runs in the 9th to seal the deal.
Ss Joe Kirby lead the locals with a homer and single and 4 rbi..his 3 run 4th inning round-tripper shot the boys into an early lead.
Lf, Roger Lambert, also homered and singled, with 2 rbi..Damian Ramirez, DH, contributed 2 singles and lead-off, 2b, Brandon Fischer,turned 2 singles and a walk into 3 runs.
C.J.Cabrero started for Burlington,gave up 3 runs and 5 hits in 5 innings..and Dane Anderson threw 2 scoreless innings before the roof fell in..Brants record falls to 5-17 ,Milton improves to 8-11..
Brants play in the St Catherines Tournament this weekend, starting at 6pm Friday against the hosts at Community Park. and in Glanbrook Monday before returning home vs Etobicoke, next Wednesday at Nelson Park, game time is 7:3opm.
