Overtime Thriller

Wednesday night saw the season’s first overtime game. In a heavily contested and emotional matchup, it was only fitting that the finish be equally as dramatic. And 1’s perfect season was on the line while Above the Rim was essentially playing for nothing but momentum heading into the playoffs since their ranking was determined prior to the match. In the overtime frame, And 1 jumped into the early lead with their team play as all 5 players on the floor hit the scoreboard. Above the Rim found themselves with the ball and a 3-point deficit. They were able to get a good look at the basket and as it sailed through the air, it appeared we were going to a second overtime but the ball hit the backrim, dashing Above the Rim’s chance to play the role of David vs Goliath – at least for now… Jason Burke led the way with 18 points while Theo Parks and Kyle Fairbairn each had 16 in the loss.
